Thanks for the great review! Simple and to the point. Just some more general info: - the machine price lowered in Canada to $249.99. And on Ninja webpage there is often a 20% off coupon. So you can easily get it on sale or with coupon for $199CAD (assuming u find it in stock) - the CO2 canisters can be replaced with any generic twist-on ones at any exchange program. So can use a local or regional program for more savings. I use a local company and pay $12.50CAD per exchange refill bottle, and includes free delivery to my home - ninja flavours are good, but they are mainly fruit/juice flavours. However any of the sodastream sryups work on this, just choose no flavour, and then put 1.5tbsp of coke sryup (or any flavour) in. Tastes like regular soda. Also, the ninja pods lids come off easily, and you can put ANY of those water enhancer small bottle liquids (which are around 50ml) they all use around a 3ml dose per 355ml. Pour them into an empty white lid bottle which also does a 3ml dose. The blue lid bottles do 3.6ml dose for 355ml liquid on 1 star level. Over all hundreds of 3rd party flavours with these, and still automatically mixed (koolaid, country lemonade, crush brand) are a few i've used. And sodastream sryups have tons of name brand pop flavours (add 1.5tbsp syrup urself, cant reuse ninja pods for these). Overall just wanna say, you are NOT locked down to ninja branded co2 or flavours. As you said in the review, the height doesnt fit under my cabinets too with my lighting, which is a downside. But placing it on the counter next to ur fridge, as far back as u can. And getting a little basket to hold pod flavours and put it in the space behind the machine might be a good compromise in ur kitchen.

We purchased one of these, Ninja offered a 60-day trial so we thought we'd give it a try. From day one we knew the machine is a keeper. If you order from Ninja, you will get all 8 flavor pods vs buying from other retailers you will only get 4 flavor pods. Once we setup the unit, we were pleasantly surprised at how good all the flavors are and that they are all zero calorie. We did not purchase this unit to save money over buying soda, we purchased the Ninja Thirsti as a healthier alternative to high calorie soda that also contains many more chemicals. You can save money by exchanging the CO2 canisters, by my calculation, the cost is roughly the same as buying brand name soda in bulk. We found the amount if fizz is more than enough on the lowest CO2 setting so that should make the 60L cartridges last longer. So far we tend to run the flavor pod at the higher level so possibly those may not last 100 drinks as advertised, but probably long enough. The colder the water, the better the fizz, the machine infuses the CO2 for several seconds which makes up most of the wait time, but it's really not long at all and you get a fresh, fizzy drink. If you want to save money on the CO2, there are many YT videos on how to save money on refilling your own CO2 cartridges but you cannot beat the convenience of just changing out the cartridges and if you do the CO2 exchange it works out closer to $15-$17 per CO2 cartridge but overall, not that much more expensive per ounce than soda and you get much more variety. Bottom line, the flavors are extremely good, the system is easy to use, and the cost is reasonable. We also like not having to lug cans of soda home from the store and not filling up our recycle bin with aluminum cans. At 16" high it will fit under our cabinetry that also has under cabinet lighting and molding.

Keep in mind you can hack those flavors cartridges to hold any flavor too, imagine you make your own flavor syrups, you could put them in the flavor cartridges and other people could enjoy something you came up with easily.

My friends bought one of these...its so expensive. The C02 replacements are crazy expensive, the drinks are insanely expensive. Soda Stream is way way way better value for money. I've had the same Sodastream for 7 years and hooked it up to a refillable 5 gallon co2 container. Costs $21 usd to refill every 6-7 months. Soda stream drinks are always on sale, you can often get their drinks for 1/2 half off a lot of times. I just ordered directly from their website and Pepsi Zero was only 4.99 on sale. My friends figure every drink costs them about 50-70 cents (not including the cost of the machine). My soda stream is about 10-15 cents per drink.

Dead wrong. None of us use our sodastream as it’s a huge pain to make a bottle of it. Also, it always makes a mess. Thirsti is the best.

I’m curious if the flavors taste fake or if they taste like actual fruit. You mentioned one tastes like an orange tic tac. I would prefer it taste like fruit instead of candy

Unfortunate that the only options are unsweetened or artificially sweetened. I was initially interested in checking this out but the artificial sweetener is a no-go for me and unlike the sodastream you can't even use any other syrups besides what Ninja markets.

This is because the artificial sweeteners are very potent. There's no possible way to make a flavoring so concentrated with normal sugars. Even Soda Stream syrups are half diet for this reason, and you use a LOT more than a few ml of that syrup per water volume. It's a physical limitation. The good news is, just use the machine to dispense carbonated water into a glass of any syrup you wish. Soda Stream or otherwise.

so at max cabrination you probably get like 60 drinks out of a C02? This would be expensive with how much I drink. The pods say they make 17 drinks, that's gotta be on the lowest flavor, and I'm assuming 6oz. So high flavor in 18oz might be only 4 drinks? What about 24oz, which is what I'd drink lol. I randomly tried to do the math in my head, but this could be like $3 for a 12oz with max everything which is insanity. And if it's 17 drinks for 6oz low taste, 24oz strong drinks with full carbonation would be like $5? I'd go broke. I hope this product becomes popular enough for companies to release much cheaper 3rd party flavor pods. And I'm assuming people will figure out how to refill the C02s themselves for dirt cheap like they did with the Soda Stream. With both of those things I'd love to have one.

I like the concept, but it's a trap! You're tied to Ninja not only for the flavour/soda refills, but also for the CO2 cylinders. Great marketing, but I would have a tendency to push that towards the "Scam" pile, notwithstanding the quality of the drinks. Great review, thanks!

I've just watched another video in which I learned that Sodastream gas cylinders (cheaper and easier to source) are compatible but as Sodastream has (had?) its production in the Occupied Territories that's a "No" from me... Also the flavour packs seem to be reuseable/refillable with the flavours of your choice, but concentrations would vary, so it would be hit-and-miss. Apparently the thing also "reads" the colours of the lids and allegedly adjusts amount dispensed accordingly, so all in all a bit of a headache... Oh, might also check whether the gizmo is available in Europe at all! EDIT Not available in Europe, at least not from the German website of the South American river outfit. One less decision for me to make!

I can exchange my co2 canister at walmart, target, etc., for $15, and if I really drank a lot of carbonated beverages, I could get a large co2 tank from a gas exchange store and use it to refill the co2 canister for much less. You could even go the dry-ice route.
