I played Ninja Gaiden back in 89 or 90. My dad brought it home and it was just an awesome game. At first I needed help on the first boss but over time I got better. At 7 or 8 years old I made it to the boss on level 5-4. I could never beat that boss. But I remember being excited to even make it there.

That boss punished us players when we were kids! It was no fault of our own though - the game had taught us to exercise patience for the entire time until we reach the Stage 5-4 boss. That boss punished us for being too cautious as those lightning balls homed in on you consistently. We've never figured out that the actual way to beat the boss is to be completely reckless and wail on him with your sword as fast as possible.

You can tell whoever is playing that game is not really that good of a player they're not really coordinated I can play the game without even without even getting touched not once that's how good I am

I am 53 years old, that was my first video game, I did not get tired of going through the story and my favorite from Nintendo to PS3, how crazy. currently if tecno released another story I would love to play it again

This series has a great story and awesome cut scenes. Remember those handheld LCD Tiger Electronics games? My brother had this and I had Double Dragon.

Absolutely my all-time favorite gaming trilogy. NG2 will always be my favorite, but the trilogy as a complete whole is just phenomenal to play.

I wish nintendo would still make more nes style ninja gaiden games with the same musician composers for the music and the same writers for the story lines and even the graphics. I could play these into forever.

Hands down the best video game trilogy ever made. I played the s**t out of all of these. Thank you for this and preserving the past.

I remember when Ninja Gaiden came out and graced the cover of Nintendo Power magazine and all the kids went nuts for it, however in my neck of the woods it was so hard to find. I think it took like a month or two and then my next door neighbor got it somehow, I think his dad did on a trip out of town. We all freaked out at the cutscenes and how it was the future of graphics and lost our collective minds. Lol then like a few weeks later it was at all the toy stores and the neighbor kid wasn't so popular anymore. Lol those were the days.

Great game play on these! I beat Ninja Gaiden back in '89 and it was a tough game! The storyline really made me strive to get better so I could find out what happened next. I never got the chance to play the last 2 games. I think I may revisit this very soon and beat it once more. If I can accomplish that then maybe I will go for the next 2!

GREAT series. I love Ninja games in the 80's and 90's. Sega had Shinobi and Nintendo had Ninja Gaiden LONG before modern consoles released the same exact game franchise. Fun times 👍

I really want a full remake of the original NG trilogy into third person games with today's current gen consoles and pc.

All 3 beatin 1st was the hardest

I always played this game but never completed it...now I want it just to finish...I'm more smarter lol...and this feeling that I know I will finish is crazy...confidence like anything grows in time...I was 9 playing this game...now you can see why there's a big difference.

The SNES version of the trilogy is really good with updated graphics and the sound tracks are spot on.

The SNES version doesnt have updated graphics. It's in fact a graphical downgrade as it lacks the parallax scrolling from Ninja Gaiden III and some background animation from NG2 and NG3

SNES version is ok. But music wise...kind of sucks. Like the original 8bit music. I think the producers could have kept the old school music with a few adjustments. Not make it over the top.

Imagine if they made a live-action adaptation of the trilogy into movies or series. With so much story in cutscenes, it could totally work.

Admit it, you died so many times playing the first game so much that grew a fondness for Ryu's death theme that's now a childhood earworm of a theme.

Your game NG 1 is very easy version,not Japanese. I played in Japanese version…. I passed it on the computer, with immortality, in 2006. With 50 attempts. 😂

When playing this game there where 2 things I hated really bad 1 the flying turkeys and 2 the respawn of every little enemy

When I first saw Ninja Gaiden AKA the real original Japanese name was Ninja guidance I beat the game the same day I brought it home almost every game I brought home I beat it the same day except maybe three or four of them I'll send Nintendo game franchise the only game that I didn't beat the same day and that was metal gear because I had school homework everything else I beat I beat all three Ninja Turtles Mike Tyson punch out I was an expert in that I beat rad racer I beat faster as Quest I beat GI Joe I beat so many games it don't even make sense Batman contra super contra Double Dragon Bad Dudes skate or die Sky shark

I doubt it. This port is a make off the Arcade Ninja Gaiden which was TOTALLY different from this. I don't see them remaking a game that was better graphically in it's predecessor. They did tho made other Ninja Gaiden home games that were better graphics-wise on the newer game consoles like Xbox.

Man....Team Ninja needs to reboot the first 2 original NES games. Can you fuckin imagine how dope that'd be? Sigma 1 and 2 were awesome, but 3 was shit IMO. If they brought it back to where it all began, original storyline and characters etc but with the essence of the Sigma games, psh....forget about it. It'd be over.

I don't understand why hell took out infinte continues in ninja gaiden 3, it makes absolutely no sense! and if didn't know actually ninja gaiden 3 is actually 2nd game chronologically wise, with number 2 dark sword of chaos being final game in the trilogy.

I love this game. I've watched soo many speed runs of this that watching someone play it at a normal pace was just unwatchable for me.

Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Super Punch and Super Castlevania all came out. I said Super Ninja Gaiden is gonna be awesome. Still angry!!! 😡
