Well, I usually am not the kind of person who will talk about his private life but I actually was at the restaurant eating ham and eggs with Trent who happens to be a long time friend of mine, I actually wrote most of his songs but I gave them away so he could live his dream of being a rock star, and I remember, just as the waitress was about to bring us some bacon, he actually said "odd766, you're a piece of shit" and then he hung up on your sorry ass.

I asked Llamasoft how this collaboration started and here was their response: "Yes, he contacted me to ask if I'd be interested in his using Polybius for a video and if I could do some custom work on it to add song lyrics. I was only too pleased to do so. Trent and his people were absolutely great to work with. Very happy with the result." Didn't think I could love this video any more than I already did

People complaining about his new stuff: look, he isn't the man he was in Broken or DWS, he's not on drugs, he's not drinking. He's in his 50s now, has kids, a wife, and concerns for what the world is going through NOW. His sound has softened, but it carries an ominous sound. This is his music, and it's very clearly his journey... After The Fragile, you saw a new Trent, sober, realizing there's things going on. I personally liked the feel Year Zero gave, and The Slip. Like we're being watched trough our front facing cameras. I think once all these EPs are finally out, we'll understand the theme. So bad ass.

That’s pretty cool 😎 man. I first heard NIN back in 1989 when I just turned 10. The Head Like A Hole video played on MuchMusic 🎶 which was like the original MTV up here in Canada 🇨🇦 . After all of the bloody hair bands and soft pop rock that I heard throughout the 80’s (some of it I really liked and still do but most of it was Garbage 🗑 )and my youth, Trent Reznor and his band was something else entirely. It totally blew me away! Looking 👀 back at it now, his truly original sound was like a big middle finger 🖕 to the entire music 🎶 industry and commercialism, selling out etc. at the time and still to this day. I’m 40 now and I still Love ❤️ my Nine Inch Nails! They’re my favourite band, along with Nirvana (who coincidentally also started in 1989), Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins 🎃 , Offspring, Green Day, Alice In. Chains, Jane’s Addiction, Bush, Silverchair etc. from the 90’s era. I also like many other bands and musicians from other eras and decades, but the 90’s and it’s alternative and grunge scene would have to be my favourite decade for sure. Rock on 🤘 and Take Care Everyone! 😎🎶🎸👍

LYRICS: [Verse 1] Focus? We didn't even notice We awake in a place we can barely recognize Yeah, hypnosis And you can justify it all Your back is up against the wall again Shut up, silence Add a little violence And offend and pretend and defend And demand my compliance And you can always justify The missile trails across the sky again [Chorus 1] So what are you waiting for? You got what you asked for Did it fix what was wrong with you? Are you less than? Go and look what you've gone done C'mon, welcome oblivion Did it fix what was wrong with you? Are you less than? [Verse 2] Needful Too many fuckin' people You'll have to take care of yourselves Y'know I've got my hands full And you can always justify The missile trails across the sky again [Chorus 2] Go on, what are you waiting for? You got what you asked for Did it fix what was wrong with you? Are you less than? And look what you've gone done Welcome oblivion Did it fix what was wrong inside? Are you less than? [Chorus 3] So what are you waiting for? You got what you asked for Did it fix what was wrong with you? Are you less than? (Are you less than? Less than?) Look what you've gone done Well, welcome oblivion Did it fix what was wrong inside? Are you less than?

Does anybody actually know what the game is a reference to? "Polybius" is a video game urban legend. The legend goes, it was an arcade game that showed up at a few Arcades at Portland, Oregon, which was used by the CIA to hypnotize people during Operation MKUltra. The machine gave people nausea(vomiting), severe headaches, nightmares, etc.

  • @PeachysMom

It’s been debunked. I watched a documentary where all these arcade collectors were fed up with the story, always knowing it was a hoax because it made no sense, but having no proof ,as well as constant inquiries. they sherlocked it by starting with combing through caches to find the very first reference to it online, which revealed a shady string of East German arcade collector/dealers and getting ready for deepening intrigue, but then they were called in from the field. the owner of the arcade reproduction game website they’d stated their East German investigation from admitted to making it up in 1997 as a super cool first listing in his online catalog. but the creepy story is still super creepy nd this portrays it perfectly

Think it's more Urban Legend than conspiracy. But " Sinneslöschen " does seem to fit with the song.

This song is like "The Hand That Feeds" "Ringfinger" "Not So Pretty Now" and "Came Back Haunted" having a baby together. This is pure awesome nin.... it makes me feel what I felt long time ago when I discovered nin for the first time. The strenght of the track is the same as The Hand That Feeds, so simple but so incredible in the same time ! Because the composition itself is awesome, a piano cover of this would be awesome !

The hand that feeds was such an awesome track, this is right up there too. I love old and new NIN but hand that feeds may be the perfect blend. So happy this is along those lines. Cool video too. I want to play that game!!!!

It isn't VideoDrome, its Polybius. If you don't know, Polybius is a myth about a game made by the government to test the effects of LSD on the public for mind control purposes resulting in at least one death as part of the governments MKULTRA program. The fucked up part about the myth is that even though Polybius was not a real video game, MKULTRA was a real thing that actually did involve people being drugged by the FBI to test out LSD in combat situations. MKULTRA is now widely known as a failure that never gave the FBI anything but even worse PR than it already had, though.

I'm aware of Polybius & MKULTRA. But there is a small homage to VideoDrome as well. I think they show it two spots, most notably at the end, but when the pointing hand pokes out of the TV, the effect is a nod to a scene in VideoDrome. balkankomuna.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/videodrome.jpg Granted that story itself is kind of similar, at least in terms of the concept of mind control and programming people into killers; though VideoDrome is more of a commentary on the nature of the media and how it can shape ones perceptions and mindset.
