Nina Teicholz : The Dark History How Seed Oils Took Over Our Diets

in this video Nina Teicholz talks about What really causes seed oil consumption to rise. Nina Teicholz is a New York Times bestselling investigative science journalist who has played a pivotal role in challenging the conventional wisdom on dietary fat. Her groundbreaking work, 'The Big Fat Surprise', which The Economist named as the #1 science book of 2014, has led to a profound rethinking on whether we have been wrong to think that fat, including saturated fat, causes disease.
Nina continues to explore the political, institutional, and industry forces that prevent better thinking on issues related to nutrition and science. She has been published in the New York Times, the New Yorker, the British Medical Journal, Gourmet, the Los Angeles Times and many other outlets.

Removed transfats??? I think most U.S. companies have changed the serving sizes to make the label say it is 0 transfats, but transfats are still in many products of processed foods.

Europe is way behind on seed oils and margarine. When I watch european channels for recipes, either pastries/sweets or savory dishes they always use seed oil and some other stuff, and when I made a comment that these oils are toxic, they attacked me... I never bothered again. I just replace, many, ingredients to keto friendly, and that's it. Simple.

@@beezowdoodoozoppitybopbopb9488 It depends on whether is just an old 2 barrel engine or a 4 barrel HP. Late 60's should all be forged crank, and those engines range from 400 dollars to 1500 depending on the serial number Heads may vary. HP big blocks all have the higher rise exhaust manifolds and the lower end engines have a "log" stye with poor airflow.

You failed to mention what happens when the oil is reused multiple times. It becomes more and more toxic after each reheating. Ghee, Tallow, Lard are the only fats I use to cook food. I have eaten maybe 10 servings of vegetables, fruits or grains in the last 2 years. I primarily eat local grass fed beef, local raw milk, butter and local fish. I do drink coffee and only water and milk besides coffee. I recently had blood work done and every marker except one was perfect. I am 67 year old male. My LDL cholesterol was 240, which is considered high. All other markers, a1, triglycerides, liver, thyroid, immune system etc. perfect. My doctor ordered a cac scan due to my elevated LDL and my absolute refusal to take a Statin drug.

Look up the Korean Cholesterol Mortality Study published in 2019. Over 12 million subjects. No money from Adventist cult food industry or big pharma. People between 200 and 240 live the longest. Over 240 barely any difference even at 300 or 400. Under 200 the rate of death for all causes goes up fast and hard. That includes suicide and violence. Mine is only 204. Way to close to the edge. Consider yourself lucky. That is a perfect number. My cholesterol use to be extremely low. Low enough to concern my doctor. At the same time my triglycerides were way too high. That was over 14 years ago before changing to low carb and motor lubricant free . My triglycerides are extremely low now. Which is great. But I would love to have higher cholesterol.

These seed oils are insidious, with the exception of soybean oil, of course. Soybeans are a legitimate food source and are fairly oily by nature, so you are actually getting wholesome soybean nutrition when you use these delicious oils. Cottonseed? "Grapeseed"? These aren't even food sources.

trans fats are not found in animal products. you are thinking of different forms of saturated fat, the same thing our body intentionally makes to store energy, and has done for hundreds of millions of years. strange that the thing our DNA produces for later use is somehow bad. zero evidence that is the case.
