Yeah Nina Hagen is „LITERALLY“ one of a kind! In German there is the saying „Genie und Wahnsinn liegen dicht bei einander“ (engl.: „genius and madness are close to each other“) and she embodied that saying since almost 50 years on stage and is still to this day even as 65 years old she is still completely chaotic and extraordinarily energetic,
The whole album Nunsexmonkrock. Pure genius. I am 52 now and I was literally beaten up for listening to this music in the late 70's/early 80's. She is my queen!🖤🤘🖤

I love Nina. Naturtrane is one of my favorites song ever.
I literally just discovered Nina Hagen this week and damn, I'm hooked. As a fan of punk, metal, psych rock, and strange performance rock, I can't believe I never even heard of her before.
The " Queen" of Germany !!!
YASSSSS! Nina is one of my heroes. We used to dance to her stuff like "New York New York" (not the Sinatra song, I assure you) and "Flying Saucers". She and her father were exiled from East Germany because they were too crazy to deal with but also too famous to just make them disappear. Formal opera training. Love that you did this!
Nina Hagen is 10 times crazier than all Rammstein members combined. Till Lindemann would run for his life every time he met her. Our US friends must think in Germany they are all completely crazy when they see Rammstein and Nina Hagen. Nina Hagen belongs actually already for 40 years in the madhouse, but nobody in Germany dares to catch her :-) :-)

Huh... Guess that's why she covered a Rammstein song? All I know is that she is is supremely talented. It's hard to think of a vocalist that comes close to the skill, and range, not just in pitch, but style. Rammstein are new kids in her history but I hope, before I pass on, that I get to hear Till and Nina do a duet... Es muss sein!

Nina is so good, remember she is doing this live!. I saw her 4 times from about 1980 to the late 80's and it was always a trip of a show. Such a diverse catalogue of music. Early stuff was almost jazz/rock with her first band on her debut and Unbehagen, and then she went where she wanted to go, doing disco, punk, and the ultimate NunSexMonkRock album. A true pioneer for all the ones that came after.
Nina Hagen was quite big in Germany and Holland in the 80's, accompanied by an awesome band.
I remember in '78 this was on tv, I was 14, blown away and it was the talk of the school the next morning, awesome. The album is great.
Oh my Ungod!.....my beloved Godmother of German Punk.Nobody has ever reacted to her early work yet....this ROCKPALAST Concert changed the whole german punk music genre!....also check out her Cover Versions of THE TUBES (White Punks on Dope/TV Glotzer) and FRANK SINATRA (My Way) and of course PUNK from the same Concert back in 1978 !!!.....she is so much more than only the Rammstein Cover Seemann with Apocalyptica together !...after the Split from her Backing Band, they started their own Career as SPLIFF,one of the Best German Bands ever! You just scratched the surface with this Song !
…and still, all these years after, I have goosebumps all the way through… so hair-raisingly amazing! And to under stand the lyrics, totally hilarious, and what she does with the words, and how that all ties into her singing, adds another level of hair-raisingness…! 🔥💥💛
Every single female metal singer can't get close to what Nina could do.

Yesss, finally someone does this reaction. The entire concert is great. TV-Glotzer is a nice one from the same show that's a straight up rock song. And of course her biggest hit in those days: Unbeschreiblich Weiblich.

TV Glotzer is a cover of white punks on dope by the Tubes, with new German lyrics. Another totally crazy band from the end of the 70’s. I’m always getting confused when a try to sing along 😀. Both the Tubes and the Nina Hagen band where among the view rockbands accepted in that punk hole I used to hang out in the early 80’s. Unbeschreiblich Weiblich is also amazing. Suzy should look for a translation for the lyrics, I think it will make her laugh. 😀

the Queen of Punk 🤘 and yes, she is crazy, in a positive way ^^ I met her in Ibiza, where she had a kind of India/Bollywood/Guru Type concert 😂
Nina Hagen = Legend = Batcrazy and musical genious. In Brazil, her show was awesome, and Supla, the guy she had a fling with, a singer too, even made a song for her "Garota de Berlin" that they recorded together.
Nina grew up in former East Berlin (that belonged to the Soviet sphere of influence) as a daughter of a popular East German actress and singer (Eva-Maria Hagen) and a Jewish father. Her parents divorced when Nina was little and her step dad became a well known singer songwriter who was critical of the East German regime and had to leave the country. Nina as a free spirit followed him as soon as possible. She then lived in West Germany and has gotten to know many countries on both sides of the former Iron curtain. India and the U.S. became two countries that she favoured.
Oh my god Who is this woman???? I listen to some weird stuff but she is crazy! 😃 So this is from the 70s? I hope she is still around and I have a lot of music to explore from her! Btw. I think the title is made up from two German words: Natur and Träne (so it would be nature tear not natural tear) please~ if there are any native German speakers correct me if I am wrong X3 [I'm learning German in school] It kind of reminded me a bit of Dadaism stuff that I have seen recently but I might be completely off as I don't really understand what Dadaism really is 😂
@thomasreimer1767

Nina is still around but not that present anymore. She grew up in East Germany and she is a weirdo with a classic singer education and a 4 (some even say 5) octaves voice. Once in a while we see her on TV but her high times has been the 70s and 80s. You're right about the words. ;)

@@d34d10ck What did she do to make you think that way? [like did she do something criminal or just has different opinions? I am curious. nina hagen, the unique voice of germany could sing any opera part but went her own crazy way of singing. tolerating that human being are different would make life easier.

This is bringing back good memories. I love Nina. I did see her live twice. Once in the late 80s and once in the early nineties (Amsterdam/Utrecht). Great shows. She is quit the performer and very funny. ❤🤘🤘
Nina Hagen, die kønigin von pank ! I was so lucky to see her on her first tour, shortly after she had been kicked out of the GDR, in 1978, and that was a great punk show. Both her and the Rammstein boys grew up in East Germany, they must have had a great punk scene there LOL

The open window presented Sparrow clouds, fluttering skies Wind blows, my nose freezes And a couple of exhaust pipes rattle Oh, that's where the sun goes down Red, with gold, that's how it has to be I look down on the street I remember my friend Immediately my heart is getting heavy I just need to see birds flutter And then my gaze flies skyward It hurts the soul too, how beautiful Nature in the evening, quiet city Cracked soul, tears run All of this makes you very weak And I just keep crying [Instrumental] (Ye-ye-ye-yeah!)

When I was learning German in school, we'd use some of Nina Hagen's songs for grammar lessons. Some of the strange lyrics actually ended up being good examples of verb conjugations, but the meaning was so bonkers, it stuck in your memory.
You should listen to her do reggae (African reggae) or disco (New york, new york). React to live performances. Her album Nunsexmonkrock is probably the most unhinged, creative and uncompromising use of human voice ever put on record.

It is not exactly "Natural Tear" in english. The accurate translation would be "nature tear", because she sings amongst other things about the beauty of the nature while she looks out of the window. And she can sing opera because she is trained as an opera singer.
One of the best reaction videos I've ever seen
Nina, es una artista en todo sentido, tambiéne hace querer se como ella, sin miedo alguno, lograr expresar de esa manera tan libre es el clímax. Del tema me me es complicado escoger que parte me, pero indudablemente el final me hace querer más. Saludos!

Nina is an alltime legend to me. I'm still getting goosebumps all over, when listening to this song!
She was a trained opera singer, decided to persue other musical direction and often satirized opera. Translation of the title is Nature Tears. Another great German band from that period to check out is Wirtschaftswunder

It's true that she sang opera from an early age. That was the influence of her mother. Eva Marie Hagen. Nina had no formal opera training and was somewhat of a schlager star on the DDR youth music circuit. Until Wolf Biermann became controversial ic "Linientreuheit"
