2000+ is really good but compared to a GM it’s really not. When you face the pressure of these top players almost everyone cracks.

@@adaelasm6467 I don’t think they’re expected to lose so early, these videos are always nice but they have little instructional value for OTB players, since our opponents know more theory and don’t play so passively and don’t blunder like this

@@claudiog7692 I disagree. Sure, it's more valuable for online players, but the way he explains his thought process for moves is super helpful. For example, Qg5 tactically defending the knight is something I wouldn't have ever thought of

@@calebkoeller9586 yes that’s not an easy move to find and he’s good that he sees it so quickly, but since that was the opening in a classical game I would have seen it, and I would expect my opponent the same

as a 2000 rated player I've really enjoyed the video's. I think it's the way you draw in the audience to guess the move, and logically explain your thoughts.

5:30 against the Catalan, the Benoni is an extremely interesting choice. The Benoni typically is better for White, but not when White played g3 or f3

There actually are two chessable courses on the Nimzo: Nimzo-Ragosin by IM Sielicki and the Nimzo-Semi-Tarrasch. There is also IM Krykun's Accelerated Queen's Indian Course. But I agree that they should add a course for the Nimzo-QI repertoire

Yeah if I remember correctly the Nimzo got played in the Candidate's even. Fischer played it against Spassky in '72 as well. Very solid opening played at all levels

I just won a rapid game from someone where we legit played almost all of the moves from this video, only instead of Rad1 my opponent went Nd2, but I still played Qg5 and I won the pawn the way Danya showrd after Bf3. I thought maybe watching these videos would help my chess, but I didn’t expect to be playing the tactics that Danya calculated for me move by move haha

Just for the sake of being pedantic, isn’t the immediate mate actually avoidable in the final position just at the expense of a bunch of pieces. Like after Ng3+ and hxg3. White could go Rf2 as Danya said, but for the purpose of vacating the f1 square for the knight. So the full line could go Qxe3+ Kh1 Ng3+ hxg3 Rf6 Rf2 Qxf2 (if Rh6+ immediately then white goes Kg1 defending the rook) Nf1, with the point that if Black is now intending Rh6 you have Nh2. And after that black could continue the attack with Qg3. At which point white could go Kg1 again. And if Rxh2 then Bf1. Although I assume some combination of getting the bishop involved and the other rook involved would eventually lead to mate. But the mate isn’t as fast as Danya made it out to be.

I find it funny how unintentionally humble he is. Finds a 2400 player using his setup to prove that "even strong players are fans of this setup" like he himself being a fan isn't proof enough.

There's 5 to 6 Nimzo courses on Chessable and this wasn't even a game.

I always look forward to Hikaru videos but Daniel is also one those who I look forward to watch every time there’s new content. Daniel hands down is one of the best teachers in these analysis!
