NILIGHT 9" 185w and 7" 51w video review!!

My review of Nilight LED 9" and 7" off road lighting. Front lights are the big 9" and the lights mounted to the lightbar are 7". Lightbar is the Smittybilt pillar mounted unit, very solid bar.

With an electronic iris controlled camera, switching thrrough a dark mode, between different lights is the ABSOLUTE WORST REVIEW METHOD anyone can ever give, but this idiot thought he was a brilliant scientist, doing exactly that. The correct method, when having an electronic iris controlled camera function is to "firstly" AIM each & every light, individually - into the exact faraway distance as possible, on ANY high beam fitting, before doing the actual "comparison testing" and THAT in & of itself, should ONLY EVER "be done" by turning each "slightly brighter" lights on ONE SET AFTER THE OTHER, meaning that initially "sidelights" only, then DIP, then normal high beam - then the first set of additional lights (in this idiots case, they are the five roof lights) then finally, with ALL high beams ON, turn on the two 9" spots. That is the ONLY way to compare, then select DIP (as if a approaching car's dipped headlight's appear) to immediately extinguish all high beam (driving and spots together) - such that we can immediately see the drivers different light sets, between ALL ON and dip, then returning to al on from Dip- gives the maximum of all aux lights over and above normal main high beam. NOW and only now, does the reviewer, operate a "switch normal main beams off, while keeping the main beam selector on, with only the AUX LED LIGHTS, to thus show what the direct difference is, with main beams off, vs LEDs off & MAIN on vs LEDS on, & all on and dip only. Being a complete dickhead, by turning OFF various lights to allow the camera iris to open wide, before we get that blinding glare of any light, until the camera refocuses, does absolutely nothing for a comparison, as sadly dicko's own eyes see what his difference is, leaving the viewer to put up with the camera modifying what we see, blinding us every time he goes via a "no light" (all off) period. Hopefully in the 6 years since he uploaded this one, he makes new ones better (but I doubt it) .

Gene Mall, thank you for this video. I've been searching for a clear, concise video demonstration of these lights, by a mature adult, without all the ridiculous music, the silly jokes, and all the rest of the crap that so much of today's youth seems so intent on producing. This video is great, it gives us just the pertinent information that allows the consumer to make an informed decision. Keep up the good work.

Great product introduction with actual usage. I recently installed a set of driving Nilight 18 watt units where my stock units were once located. As per my local DOT I need to make sure I set them to 4 feet or less at 25 feet distance from a wall. Once I get them set I will do a product intro, and after a bit of time I'll release my review after 6 months or so. For those that wish to do a "thumbs down", feel free acquire and open a channel to provide your own perspective. ;) Thank you Gene for providing this informative content. :)

Probably in series, given the weak output - but then again no one can tell the difference as the "tester" turned other lights off, between various light comparisons, meaning that the camera auto iris opened with no light, to revert down until we ONLY see the brightest as if the same as anything previously shown, not one over the other, which is how a true comparison is done.

you could run everything through one switch, but i would suggest to use relays. I googled and it looks like normal LED toggle switches can run 20amps at 12V, that is 240w (U x I = P, 12V x 20A). Also the volts drop the further distance the electricity has to travel. If you use 12awg wire and you use 16feet of wire, the current would drop 1v witch means you lose 20 watts (U x I = P, 1V x 20A). If you have 5x50w lights they will not use they´re full potensial, the lights get 220 watts in stead of 250w as they should. The relay will shorten the distance, get as much current through as the lights need, and is easy to install. A relay gets turned on by an electrical signal, so you can wire the lights to turn on with the headlights, really convenient on the road. Great review by the way! Greeting from Norway
