Also known as the Blue Bull, the Nilgai is India's largest antelope. They are found across the rid landscapes of northern and central India. They are fairly social with females living in herds of related females led by individual males. Meanwhile, young males form bachelor herds. The nilgai prefers areas with short bushes and scattered trees in scrub forests and grassy plains. The species are ubiquitous across the forests of north India, where they are often considered pests. Large populations often live surrounding agricultural land, and grazing crops, which leads to immense conflict.
