Finding him naked in the cafe is the sweetest and yet most hilarious scene of Roz and Niles. Roz actually cares about Niles' condition and shows herself as a true friend.

...and, as revealed in that final clip, a very good friend to Niles. Roz was the younger-sister-from-another-mother for Frasier and Niles. She was cut from the same cloth as Martin, but enjoyed the finer things at the same time. She was often at the same society events as the brothers Crane, but enjoyed beer and poker w/ Marty and his cop buddies. I felt bad that she didn't have the happiest ending. She became station manager, but her quest for "Mr. Right" was never completed. She was strong as steel, and the men she dated were usually weak-willed pretty boys...

I find her infinitely more intelligent, sexy and interesting than Daphne’s flighty, good-hearted eye candy. Which is probably why the insecure but intellectually equal Niles dukes it out with Roz and flips for Daphne, not the other way around.

@@urbannomad6928 I think Daphne was originally "a way out" for Niles' awful reality. The writers wisely took the two characters down a different direction when they got together. The entire "Daphne Returns" episode was about that. Niles' OCD becomes a bit less intrusive, and the real Daphne starts to emerge. Daphne is made of steel too; British steel, not Wisconsin steel. In the final two seasons, Daphne becomes the hub of the family. She even learns to screw up a dinner party or two... The episode where she holds that disastrous dinner party is truly a moment of Frasier passing the baton to her...

@@robadams5799 Yeah she did the same with Frasier lol. That was one of the reasons they replaced Lisa Kudrow with Peri. I'm rehearsals for the pilot Lisa was funny but wasn't coming off like a real foil for Frasier. They wanted someone not intellectual like Frasier but witty and tough enough to burst his bubble when he was getting overly pompous.

Roz licking his fancy first-edition book is one of her best comebacks. As fussy as he was, she knew that was how to hit him where it hurts.

I love how Roz and Niles's relationship developed from being antagonistic to them having genuine affection for one another. they'd still throw zingers at oner another, but it became affectionate banter rather than nasty insults.

I love those two together. The video wouldn't have been complete without the scene at the end where she protects him, so I'm glad you included that!

You have to be snarky to survive the world of snark that is Frasier. One of the finest comedies ever made.

Love how in the end she was protective of Niles.

My favourite Niles/Roz story was when Niles stood in for Frasier on his show. It seemed like Roz had a lot more fun working with him as I recall.

Niles response to Roz saying “I’m your new mum” had me literally tearing up with laughter, took me 3-4 minutes to recompose myself.

I think Frasier had the best sitcom writing on TV. The ensemble cast chemistry was magic. The show would've been diminished with the absence of any of them. Even the peripheral characters, Gil Chesterton, Bulldog, Bebe all added immensely to the show. I remember an episode when Niles was helping Daphne zip the zipper on the back of her dress. He got his tie hopelessly caught in the zipper and was awkwardly hobbling around in back of her. Frasier walked in and said, "Niles....(and then after a perfectly timed pause), you seem to have something on your tie."

Really enjoying your compilations. Frasier was such a great show. The writing holds up so well, all these years later.

Loved the compilation....I adore the way they sniped at each other for years but it eventually came to he playful and caring....the way she protects him when he goes nuts and naked at nervosa..... ♥️ Love them !

They were all absolute gold together as a cast with great script writers. But this was 6½ minutes of concentrated moments of genius. My love and respect to everyone involved.

This was the last sitcom my parents watched before they passed away. They always gravitated to intelligent humor. But Leslie Nielsen's slapstick was my father's favorite.

If you're referring to the original Police Squad TV series, sure, it was slapstick, but also clever. It was the reboot movie series that transitioned into blunt-force, crude humor; a crass product of the '90s for sure. As you can tell, I prefer the original series (of which are available on KZread!)

I know what you mean. The smoky voice, the warm brown eyes, the charisma, and intelligence, the sense of humour…she was one of the sexiest supporting characters in sitcom history. It’s funny that her character was occasionally so insecure about her love life on the show…there’s no WAY she hasn’t crushed it in the dating game in real life.

This show without a doubt had the best writers anywhere!

it's rare that everything about a show just came together perfectly; from the writing to the actors to the interpersonal dynamics of the characters. Fraser, Seinfeld, and I Love Lucy are great examples of when that happens.

I always thought that, too (Though Niles and Daphne are great.) Niles seemed to have a thing for dominant women like Maris and Mel, and Roz was one who he was actually able to hold his own against instead of being walked over. It certainly would have been better than the fact that they ended up having Roz and Frasier sleep together.

@@Lilbit09 Season 9, "The Guilt Trippers." It's even worse because they already had like three episodes where they almost got together and agreed it was a bad idea. It also ended up as one of the series' continuity errors, because Frasier is posing as Roz's boyfriend Roger while Roz is visiting her sister, and in a later episode Roz's sister meets Frasier again and doesn't recognise him.

You can pinpoint when they became legitimate friends through these and its fantastic

It's shocking to know that the role of Roz Doyle was dangerously close to being played by Lisa Kudrow instead of Peri Gilpin. Loved Lisa as Phoebe Buffet on Friends (it's as if she was made to play that role) but I don't think there would've been the same chemistry if she was on Frasier playing Roz. The stars were aligned perfectly and at the right time for all that to work out the way it did

Yeah. Lisa Kudrow is smart, but she comes across as a ditz and her acting isn't good enough to portray it otherwise. And Roz was smart, was able to hold her own with the Crane boys even if she wasn't as uppity as they were.

Roz & Lilith have always been my two favourite ladies from the show pure and utter class.

*I never get tired of watching Frasier, it's a whole different mood.....*

So viciously hilarious! 🤣 And it was an awesome touch ending it with a moment when Roz was actually defending Niles. She let that barista have it on his behalf. 👍🏽

That moment when Niles has a break down in the cafe shows how much Roz views Niles as her brother, how no one is allowed to screw with j bit her and heaven help you if you come for him while she’s around

This is proper belly laugh stuff. Absolutely brilliant.

Niles was so into the kiss from Roz he didn't even take time to wipe his face afterwards.

Roz was actually the nicest person in the show. I think Niles picked at her all the time because he really fancied her but knew he would never stand a chance.

Niles loved Daphne because she was "nice" and sweet and made him feel comfortable. Roz was way too hot for him to handle and I think scared him. He always seems to initiate the insults and I think it was defensive. I do think he found her very sexy though.

I think as much as Frasier was the oldest and most cock, I believe Niles was the smarter of the 2 as a therapist. When they would have episodes about psychological issues, Niles came off more understanding of the science..
