Hi everybody, One issue we have to consider is: 18-200 is an old design lens which cover from wide-standard-tele while the Z covers only from standard to tele and it is much younger and have the benefit to have a larger mount for designing the lens

yup it is. The value is more or leas equal to z lens.
you should compare it to AF-P DX Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR ..that 18-200 is a very old lens for lower MP dx camera. I shot that lens with my D90 about 10 years ago

You are making me feel old haha.. but in future I will do more nikon reviews and that will be on my list! thanks for letting me know!!..
I did this test also and got the same result, but the images from the 18-200 seem to improve if it is mounted to my D7500 without the adapter. I haven't done any side by side comparisons, but that's how it appeared to the naked eye.

It was fine, a little soft but its very cinema in a way. Not overly sharp.

On my computer the F mount had a higher contrast than the Z lens. Not really a big difference, but the price is. If you had Z camera it would make sense to buy the z len.

Yup, there is pros and cons but gosh, that focus breath blew me away.
a newly build lens vs an old one. New one is well build. Oh hey ;)

this is exactly my situation. Although the 50-250 offers better sharpness and overall image quality, the 18-200's versatility can't be overlooked (the images produced by the 18-200 are still pleasing)
