Nikon D750 | How To Edit Dramatic Fog Photos

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I took a series of landscape fog photos with my Nikon D750. In this video I show you how I like to edit dramatic fog photos using both Lightroom and Photoshop. The lens I used on the Nikon D750 was the Nikon AF-S 80-400mm F4.5-5.6 G ED VR and the location where the shot was taken was Ballandean in Queensland, Australia.

Adrian love that image, perfect conditions for black and white some how adding grain to it gives it a 3d illusion. You can see the separation of threes and that cloud or fog. Excellent. Looking forward to next weeks video. Have a wonderful week my friend.

Thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video my friend. Yes, next week's video was a lot of hard work spanning 1.5 years. But it is a feel good story. Will see you then. Have a great weekend, cheers 📸🙏

The light coloured sky at the top in the beginning was really distracting, so it was really clever editing to draw the eye to the centre tree. Great moody result in the end. Just goes to show there are many elements to great photography.

You have a great eye, thank you for the tips. Adding grain is counter intuitive to me but it definitely works in that print. Cheers, looking forward to your next video.

Great video Adrian and what a fantastic photography morning you had there 😊 I really enjoyed watching how you processed your image, I agree with you that certain images like the one you produced, grain can add a lot of atmosphere to a photo. Good work mate 👌 Cheers, Cliff

Misty conditions with trees and/or a mountain scene can always make for great photos. I can see how adding the grain can help to add to the atmosphere. My computer also struggles with Lightroom (only 3Gb ram on my graphics card). I found enabling smart previews via performance preferences in Lightroom helps - when you edit the photos they appear in lower resolution, but if you zoom to 100% and back out the full detail is then seen.

Helpful tips, we just had some amazing fog and low level clouds roll through Sedona, AZ last week and I left the house to capture as much as I could against our stunning landscape here. Looking forward to applying these editing concepts to some of those images! Happy holidays,

Nice to see your editing process on this one Adrian. It's similar to how I treat my infrared images when I'm going for a dramatic/spooky look. Agree on adding grain and I also use dodge/burn to increase contrast in important areas. Nice one mate👍

Very nice edit Adrian, liked the use of the curves, something I am always scared to do. As for adding grain I really like it, I often use grain in my abstract images, thanks for showing us the process of your edit, very Merry Christmas to you and yours mate.
