It sure does. Someone died from that sort of thing this year so it’s crazy to think someone would do that intentionally, but it looked intentional, and it is Evander Kane of all people were talking about here…

While it does appear that way, as someone whose been hit like this, Kane is now having the weight of his body upside down and his only normal response, is to kick his feet and shift momentum upward… he’s holding the stick out of pettiness but he’s not kicking at him, on purpose.

Saw it and my imagination went into high gear. I could see Zadorov getting his face cut wide open. That could have been horrifying, and 100% Kane did that hoping he would catch something with his blade. You would think Kane of all people would be careful, considering he knows all about being cut with a blade.
