Astringency is the word you were looking for. This is getting me excited! I just planted a Nakita's Gift this year. It will be my first persimmon I have had since I was a child. I want my kids to make that memory too. Thank you for sharing!!!

Thank you, I havr no idea what it calls! What I love about Nikita's gift was very sweet and juicy. I cannot wait to have them again this year.

This made me chuckle. I just ate a hachiya persimmon today for the first time. The texture was kind of gross but the taste was incredible. It was a little astringent but i kind of liked it that way.

It was my first time tasting the astringent. I do love the taste of the ripe one eventhough it was mushy.

Waaa ka lami ana! The first one was the one u had me try right? I liked those!

The lighter color which is the non astringent (fuyu) is the one you had. I only got 4 of the other one so I was not able to share it but it was the best as in super sweet but you really have to wait until it is mushy.

Astringent to siya nga dili pa mushy pero kong gipaabot pa to nako siya until mushy para naku mas lamian gyod siya. Inig bunga pohon ani patilawon tika para you can decide kong duha ba ka tanum imong itanum or usa lang.
