Thanks for the quick review of this new shoes. Very detailed indeed. I probably will choose this over METCON 6 since it has METCON 6 features with more cushioning, probably better shock absorbent when I did tuck jumps, burpee, etcs.

The plastic in the midsole is a shank to compensate for the lower rope wrap to keep the form of the shoe. Notice that without the midsole, those react metcon turbos will roll/bend like a pair of kobes unlike previous metcons. This shoe is designed like kobe ad nxt 360. The midsole/insole keeps the form of the shoe.

What would you prefer for lifting point of view (squats , deadlift and bench press or bodybuilding kind of routine), metcon 7 or metcon turbo react

I like the quick lace system in the old one. The tongue in the new one stays in place? it seems loose going to the side. And yes, the big nike text in the old is horrible.Thank you for the review.

Tongue seems OK to me. It's actually "connected" to the sides about 1/3rd of the way down - so it really can't move side to side much. If I remember, I'll highlight that in the next video.

Trying to decide between the react turbos and the metcon 6 amp. I want something firm are the reacts softer? I am not using them for CrossFit, only squat, bench, and deads. I like the diamond soles on the front and back on the reacts. It also seems like the width on the on the mid of the bottom foot is wider on the turbos than the metcons. I’m thinking about ordering both and trying them out lol

I must add I have flat feet. the nanos have a wide mid foot like the reacts do. Thinking about those too

Couple things - these are NARROW. I'll have a video about sizing up today. I had to go 1/2 size up to get the right fit. I wouldn't say these are softer than the Metcon 6. Yes it's React foam, but there isn't much of it. Personally I'm liking how this shoe fits better than the Metcon 6. That Nano X is definitely firmer (and more stable) in the heel - but also because of that I don't really like to run in them at all.

One thing I like to do is use the metcon react insole in my metcon 5's. Can you comment on how interchangeable/compatible the turbo insole is with the 5 and 6?

I'll put this in next video. The turbo midsole is the same general shape and size as what was in the original React Metcon - so I think it would work in the 5. I Haven't tried the 6, but I'll try that today and put up a short video.

Confirmed - the React midsole fits in both the Metocn 5 and Metcon 6. The Hyperlifts from those shoes will work with it as well.

What about this metcon react turbo vs metcon free 3? I want them for crossfit, estability to do snatches, cleans, DL etc. But also short distance running.

Turbo vs Metcon 6 will be posted this weekend. The answer is "It depends". What shoe are you using now?

I wish Nike would make a light-weight zero-drop training shoe with a swappable insole that adds to the drop for the weirdos that want to walk in heels. I see the potential with the 2020 Free Run 3.0s and this.

I agree. It could be 0 drop and have optional midsoles - one for medium drop with cushion, and one for tons of drop and rock solid cushion - like a Lifter.

Which shoes would you recommend between the react turbo and the nano x1 ?

I'm still testing these two shoes. Probably gonna be awhile longer. There's a lot to unpack - because they are both brand new designs.
