Good on you for putting in that work to improve on your game. I'd just listen to your coach and don't listen to any of us youtubers, regardless of our skill or knowledge. Make sure going in deep on improving your game doesn't take away from the joy you have with your game. I love your passion and hope you don't overthink things. I used the kyrie low 5 for the last few years and I loved them, would you recommend me buying the gt cut cross or the academi ( I mainly look for grip end stability)

Amazing idea and decision to get yourself a personal basketball coach! It's going to be great for your game, it's going to elevate your performance reviews and benefit your channel! A video of your classes would be really interesting! I could add that playing as many actual basketball games as you can, would also help you progress and get better. Take notice that Nike’s always get the lowest overall scores, in most cases. Puma, New Balance, Adidas and Li-Ning are simply higher quality.

Hey Zach I know this isn’t shoe related but I’ve had shin splints for 6 months now even after resting for 2 months straight and i don’t really get the chance to rest anymore bc of my job. Any recommendations about how to recover or good shoes to wear to my job? (It’s very active i have to move a lot)

Could you do a review on the new Wilson Rush Pro 4.5? They have been great shoes but always low breathability. They claim the new ones have much better ventilation.

Yeah it's so weird because the 3 cheapest bball shoes from Nike (Precision 7, Renew Elevate 3 and Giannis Immortality) all have shanks. Then for some arbitrary reasons they just remove it from the supposedly more "premium" GT Cut line and some of the signature lines as well (Tatum, Luka)

The basketball lesson video would be great. I think your expertise as a foot doctor reviewing athletic shoes is already extremely valuable, but if these lessons help you refine your footwork and your game I can't imagine how much that will supercharge your observations on how each shoe is working. It will be really interesting to see if some shoe designs that seem bad for the average player transform into great shoes for more experienced players. I'm thinking about shoes like Tatum 1 where you pointed out how JT plays on the balls of his feet, liked the suspension in the midsole, and had very minimal traction in the heel.

I think it will give me a greater appreciation at least for some models I may not like currently- we'll see...

Even though there are differences, I don't understand how these are different enough to justify a separate release. Especially given how many signature models Nike has with similar specs. Nike's "move to zero" is hard to believe with the number of models they're churning out.

Depends on the individual shoe but a lot of them are very good

why does nike hate shanks and full length cushioning? they have to be the only company not offering a full length cushion on their models and they have more models without a shank than any company i can think of

Doc Zach i am also so tired of nike pulling the same thing again and again. I mean why even release a new GT cut- iteration if they dont plan to put in a moneys worth of zoom air bags in anyways? Why even bother if nike (like 25-50 releases in the last few years) still wants to save on a 2$ air bag in the back of the shoe!? Good review as always though!

The gt cut academy was on sale for $60 this weekend, so grabbing those based on the limited upgrade these seem to be. I'm surprised they are into a 3rd version of these!
