Being from Baltimore, MD the real stories behind the success are sometimes never told. This is the TRUTH about the AF-1 being from WEST BALTIMORE this is the story we know especially if you're from Park Heights & Spaulding Ave. Nike was about to cancel the shoe until the owners of Cinderellas told them not to cancel because a guy in the neighborhood who worked for them at the time started painting the swoosh sign different colors in the back of the store which created a DEMAND and people from NY, PA, DE, DC and VA were driving to Baltimore to grab a pair. The shoe was SELLING OUT!! Those guys that owned CINDERELLA's went all the way to Nike HEADQUARTERS in OREGON to STOP Nike from cancelling the sneaker. I just hope that BROTHER from the neighborhood got a CHECK!

AF1 were NEVER EVER created until Moses came to PHILLY and they were given to him BEFORE the release that would happen the following month IN PHILLY and then everyone else and NY people came to PHILLY for them THEN BMOR got them AFTER they began to decline in Philly...yall brought it back BUT DID NOT START IT...FACTS!

@@tee5502 - I remember seeing the whole Georgetown squad coming Rudos back in the early 1980s with the Baltimore players.

They have zero respect for basketball in Philadelphia. I play basketball and I went to Ph with some friends of mine, one of who plays professional, and we wanted to go to a public court, like the ones in this video. We got told off instantly! "white Frenchies(I'm not French) cannot play ball, start steppin' son". When we actually found a court that would let us play, we were pushed and shoved excessively away everytime we got near the basket. It's basketball Philly, not wreastling. Took several elbows to my chest that day. We were miles better, but instead of dividing us between two teams, so we could all have a good time, they decided to hurt us instead. The game ended 33-12 to them, according to their observing "ref", but I was counting shots and we won 30-21. 444 my arse!

Now this wasn't racism, a word you Yanks are far too eager to use, because I think these men knew the hue of their skin didn't make them better, but I could also tell they desperately wanted to believe it did. Now I know that there's such a thing as "streetball" and that's fine, but then Philadelfia is a city of streetball, not basketball. If you turn down a challenge by someone for the sole reason of them being different, then you do not love basketball, and certainly don't respect it. No matter how fresh your Nike Air trainers look.
