Nik is a really nice guy in person aswell. I do security at Lets Rock 80's festival that travels around the uk and I talk to him every time. One thing is for sure. He always remembers a face. First time I met him was last year at Lets Rock Sunderland. A year later he remembered who I was.

This is something I like a lot with 80's new wave and pop songs : behind the out-of-this-world instrumentals and flashy trends or weird clips, you can notice a very down-to-earth melancholy and existential angst which countered the superficiality this era wanted to drown people into in the West.

Nik Kershaw is without doubt one of the most underrated solo artists of the 80's. Not only is he a brilliant guitarist, his lyrics and song writing ability is second to none. I was 17 in '84 and this song really touched me!
3:20 being most replayed, such a human natural reaction... amazing.
This was the "light" music of the 80s ... to the face .... Thanks Nik ... One of the most beautiful hits of the period ... and then the solo with electronic horns and triplets .... ... when even the pop music was of quality and full of ideas and good taste ....... what good times ....
Wouldn't it be good if music today had this much meaning, Even if it was for just one day?

Loved the 80s..
My childhood music, love the 80s
This song is transcendental art masquerading as pop music. Nik knows how to create music that taps into something very subtle and deep that's buried within us all.

Facts! He's a true artist and so underrated IMHO.
80’s rules forever…. The Good old days… Music First… 🙏
My best decade of all. Born in the 60's, tried to figure what growing up was all about in the 70's, went out out into the wide world in the 80's and put my stamp on it by getting married in 88. Any song in the 80's conjours up nostalgic memories for me, times, places, the smells and of course friends and acquaintances who shared those ups and downs with us. I'm a father of 3, grandad to 2 (so far), still married to the same girl who stole my heart with her crazy Maddona look. My kids and grandkids think i'm a nutter when Frankie, DuranDuran, the Cure etc. is played and i start my jigging thing going on lol but god, wouldn't it be nice to be my youth in the 80's for just one more day ...... Peace guys xxx

I wish i reincarnate into 80s and enjoy that time to the fullest
This is so 80's - the music, hair, clothes, atmosphere. Great music decade to grow up in, continuous stream of brilliant hits.
nostalgia helps us to support the emptiness of the present time
Loved this song in the 80's... I'm 62yrs old , still love it❤
I was 12 when this came out, just about to hit my teens! Nik was the hottest thing back then! Still is now! There was no internet back then just tape decks, countdown, and MTV!! I'd stay up late just to watch the top 10 and get a glimpse of Nik! I was crazy about him!! I'd write every lyric down on paper and practice every word! I still know every song he wrote!! Best days !! 💕😄🙏

The music of 2000 and later is nothing comparable to 80s and 90s, the top periods of all times!
This song is brilliance from start to finish. The 80s are the years with the most killer melodies.
one of the greatest pop tracks ever done. impressed me when I was kid and does it again and again. especially the sax solo is brilliant

It was a guitar solo first, interestingly. The producer had the idea to double it with a horn section. Worked well.

As an aside - _The Man in the White Suit_ is a really good film...I feel it may have been an inspiration here.
80's music is without doubt the best, could listen to the likes of Nik, Howard Jones, Level 42, UB40 all day every day!
Listen to this as loud as you can, it's a masterpiece
Still sounds amazing. Still sends shivers down my spine. We need more original melodies like this on the radio. Happy 2019, everyone!

I love how at 3:56, the solo part goes: "even if it was for just one..." and then it switch over to multiple voices just as the other character on screen says: "day!" Pure goodness.
One of my absolute Top 10 Songs of the 80s. This never get old.
i can’t stop listening to this. it makes me so happy
I heard this song playing a supermarket yesterday ......it was like being instantaneously transported back in time to the '80s ✅👌👌
Perfect movie KZread video by Nik Kershaw ; chased back Into his alien abode; space ! . ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊 ..
God bless you Nik Kershaw. What a great song. I miss the ‘80’s so much.
Every single song my dad keeps listening over and over is a masterpiece. I don't like all of them immediately, but always end up loving them. This one I used to hate because he would blast it on the car EVERY.SINGLE.TIME ... but here I am... no one forced me to search this song... It's 4 AM and this song just seems PERFECT PS: I still live with him and as we grow older our music taste match more and more... and I am not complaining at all hehe
Esto es música!!!🇦🇷✌️

My friends and I ended up backstage with Nik and The Krew in 1984, Edinburgh Playhouse, courtesy of my artwork and a kind security guard - none of us have forgotten it and we’re all 50 this year. This song means so much to me!! ❤️❤️
If every human really today understand what Nik Kershaw sings about and what he wanted us to show, to know... Wouldn't that be good? Awoken greetings from Germany 😎
Thank you nik, classic, the music is magic, 80s forever.....................
