Niguma, lady of illusion.

Vajrayana. Niguma: Niguma is prayed to as Netula Mai in the village of Kumar (mispronounced by historians as Kashmir) in Sikandra block next to Lakhisarai in Bihar. Infact this area is the home of Sukhasiddi, Virupa, Saraha, Maitripa, Naropa and some other Maha Siddha's. Tibetans may ask "WHY IS NIGUMA CALLED NETULA." This is because in Bihar a married women isn't mentioned through her name but from the name of the village she hails from. Tibetan texts say that Niguma lived in a town called incomparable in Kashmir. Incomparable in Bihari means NETULA (it has been translated in Tibetan as Pema. so Maa Netula temple in Kumar (village) is dedicated to Niguma herself who was once the wife 0r consort of Naropa who lived four Km to the east of Netula in Achambo which Tibetans mispronounced as 'DJum bu'. This is where Niguma was born. Adjacent to 'Pach Mahua' (Niguma's home) and Netula (Niguma's temple) is Ramji Chitauni. Chitauni means to scatter something and Ramji means something expensive. So 'Ramdi Chitauni' is the place where the ancient Tibetan called 'Khungpo Naljor' gave Niguma the gold she demanded which the latter scattered in the forest in delight. 'Ramdi Chittauni' village just a Km away from Netula temple is proof that Maa Netula temple in Kumar village is the elusive Niguma temple. Tibetans should thank the ancient Tibetan 'Khyungpo Naljor' for writing so well. This is why it was possible for me to identify the spots. I hope the present day Tibetan Buddhist masters live upto his expectations and take up this story from here. And don't forget to like my channel 'Buddha Exhumed'. But before that I would like to clear the speculation of the relationship between Naropa and Niguma. Some say they are wife husband, some say consort while others say they were brother and sister. I say they were all three. Wife & husband, consort and had a brotherly sisterly relationship. Niguma was the wife that Naropa divorced after eight years of marriage. I came to this conclusion because of the proximity of their villages. Tibetan texts don't say clearly why they divorced because sex wasn't taboo to great siddhas. She could also have been taught by Tilopa during their time together. Though they parted there was mutual respect for each other as Naropa kept sending pupils to her. I may be wrong. This is for Buddhist masters to decide. Tibetan texts say she was the Dakini of the charnel ground. Locals of Kumar also say she was the Dakini of the charnel ground. Tibetan texts state she lived on the banks of the Sosa lake near the charnel ground. Sosa is a mispronunciation of SHAMSHAN. Shamshan means charnel ground. The charnel ground is well preserved and has been walled. Because of it high religious value people don't burn bodies there but instead take them to the Ganges. So enjoy Niguma's temple. Remember her real name is NETULA meaning PEME. If you liked this video don't forget to like and follow this channel 'Buddha Exhumed.
