Troy uses an elbow during "The Greatest Show on Earth" that makes his guitar sound like a Cello...which is amazing! Troy also plays the Irish Bag Pipes, which are totally different from Scottish Bag Pipes. He also plays Tin Flutes, Electric Guitar, Mandolin and probably many more intruments!

Yes, Markos voice is awesome.

There's that voice that reaches out and wraps you in comfort again. The only thing wrong with this song is that it's too short.

One of few love songs that was written after Tarja was fired. And that song was written by Tuomas and Marko for Finnish movie "Lieksa!". In original version, violin was recorded instead of a guitar solo. There is an official video for this song, by way it is one of the most popular with the band, I recommend you to record a reaction to it sometime too. And in general Tuomas' love songs sound heartfelt and emotional, it's even a pity that he stopped writing them.

They're kind of hard to react to because there are silly little skits in Finnish before each one, but I am betting you will be amazed at Marko's versatility. They're all on his official channel. Marko is also doing a similar thing this summer. I forget the name, it's a TV show of some kind. Fingers crossed that the episodes will eventually go up on KZread.

Marco is into Sci Fi, he seems to have a thing about Mars and aliens( see the Floor Finds chat with Marko in 2020 about the prospects if life elsewhere in the universe) and I sometimes do wonder if he has a pet martian somewhere.

I hope I remember the story correct. In his book Marko wrote that doctors found polyps in his throat. The operation damaged his vocal chords and it took him a long time to get his voice somewhat back. He told that it's never been the same especially with high tones. Later on another doctor told him the operation was unnecessary and I believe his depression which he has suffered for decades, took a bad hit. I can not recommend the book enough. It is translated in English too.

About the E-bow: It is technically said an electronic part that produces vibration on the string it is above so the string starts to vibrate too and that is bringing the special sound.Maybe you should try the Tampere version again.

When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen(Yansen). Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill, Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour. 'Please learn the setlist in 48 hours Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solo tour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album 'My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton) daughters Freja (turned 7 years this march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats.

Troy is playing with an EBOW It is used to produce a variety of sounds (like on a Violin) not playable on a guitar using traditional strumming or picking techniques. These sounds are created by a string driver that gets its input signal by an internal pickup, which works like a guitar pickup. Its output signal is amplified and drives the other coil, which amplifies the string vibrations. With this feedback loop the player can create a continuous string vibration. Fading in and out by lowering and raising the EBow is also possible. Starting with the current generation of EBow (PlusEBow, the 4th edition EBow), the user also gains an additional mode known as harmonic mode, which produces a higher harmonic sound instead of the fundamental note. This is achieved by reversing the signal phase to the driving coil, which damps the string's fundamental frequency and creates higher harmonics.

Troy is using an Ebow. Which uses a pick up and inductive electronic circuitry to induce an effect on the strings which makes it sound like a bow is being used on the strings. Cool little device and quite difficult to use it well - Troy is really good at it.

3 days before I received notification! Still, got it now Yes that was the end. Marco co-write with Tuomas for the Finnish film The Matriarch. Marco in my opinion, is one of the best male vocalists in metal - ever. You can keep your Dickinsons, for me, give me Marco every time. RJD is a different matter but I live me some Marco. May I recommend his warts-and-all autobiography, "Stainless?" ?

Troy is using an eBow. That stands for and electric bow. There are magnets in there that cause the string to vibrate without a need to pluck or strum. The string vibrates as long as you hold it over the string so it sounds like a violin ob cello player using a bow.
