I can verify that I have over 1k albums and oceanborn is literally the best one straight through, there is nothing else like it and somehow it does not get old.

Nightwish got soft and to complex just for the complexitys sake. Last 2 Albums sucked hard if you expect some proper Metal. Nightwish became more like a Folk HardRock Band worshiping Darwin nowadays. Even tho Anette never had the best Voice the Albums with Anette were decent. Marko leaving Nightwish finally put the Nail in the Coffin.

Wow this is very good! Tarja's voice was always another instrument.

This is the best NW concert, in my opinion. Amazing songs and incredible performance of Tarja Turunen, The Queen.

Tarja looks like a Disney character in this performance.

Tapio Wilska worked as a music technician in Nightwish for several years, so he often sang a duet with Tarja at that time. Also with him Nightwish recorded three songs: 10th Man Down, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, and The Pharaoh Sails to Orion. And main merit of this guy is that he had some trouble convincing Tuomas to show an early Nightwish demo to manager of Spinefarm record label. After listening to this demo tape, label management offered Tuomas to record and release their first album. That started story of Nightwish.

This was Tapio Wilska, singing with Tarja. He sings for a Finnish band called Finntroll. He sang on a couple of songs on this album, Oceanborn, and performed live with them occasionally. This was prior to Marko joining the band. He was the original singer on Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, too.

As a pianist...I loved the piano accompaniment. And Emppu just always makes me smile. Never heard this one.

Tapio Wilska also did the male vocal parts on "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" which i think you saw with Marko doing it. He was part of their road crew at this time, and becasme the lead vocalist of a band called "Finntroll". Before him, Tuomas himself handled the male vocals on the first album on "The Carpenter", "Astral Romance" and "Beauty and the Beast". I also recommend "Beauty and the Beast" from this show, with Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica doing the male vocals.

One of my favorites with Tarja.... yeah, everyone kicked ass! Thanks guys! 🤯👍

Nightwish have always been an amazing band from day one to this day. React to whatever you want in any order it just does not matter. Oh and Tuomas just kicked ass on this one. Love Nightwish but love you guys and your reactions. Thank you.

This came out December- 1998.Loved and love this LP. Stargazers, Gethsemane,Swanheart, Sacrament of Wilderness,PstO(this), Walking in the Air, Sleeping Sun , so much for the Time great Songs. Tapio doing his- for me legend- Thing:) Its Nightwish. And its nothing like Human/Nature, but both Nightwish:)...and they were so young, damnit:) Thx for bringing it up again, stay Healthy and safe over there in the States:). NWA Bavaria North

This is brilliant souls very few reactors have done a reaction to this wonderful music thankyou. These performances got me hooked a long time ago. I’m still so hooked . 2 live shows this recent tour and still the same feeling.

I have always LOVED this performance!!!! Tapio is amazing and created such energy! Tarja;s rich dark vocals pairs so well with the metal music

I can't help but enjoy your reactions. Although this is a good song from Nightwish's 1998 album "Oceanborn", the best songs for me on that album are: "Stargazers" , "Moondance", "Walking In the Air" & the 1st bonus track "Sleeping Sun".

Tuomas knew Tapio from the band called Nattvindens Gråt. Tuomas was a session keyboard player in that band and was with them on a small European tour before things really started with Nightwish. Tapio helped the Nightwish guys a lot in the early days and he was a guest singer on the album and occasionally at gigs. Tuomas always had a vision that some songs also have a male voice. Later it became a standard thing when Marko joined the band. This song has a 'beauty&the beast' singing and Yngwie Malmsteen/Stratovarius keys&guitars going on.

Keep in mind that this is between Tuomas and Marco as male singer ; ) .... Tuomas wanted to have a special male singer cause he dislikes his own singing but Marco was not yet in (Sami in base still here). Think how young they were when making this music...the first time. Tuomas nails the keys yes...

Indeed.

I found it interesting that the song begins with a Biblical quote (Exodus 10: 28) of Pharoah threatening Moses and continues what appears to be a journey after death to the sky (specifically the constellation Orion although Draco is also mentioned?) with numerous parallels to Egyptian beliefs. Perhaps a warning that fate may bestow upon you the thing you wish on others? Great reaction, stay safe, God Bless, keep rocking.

Floor might be a very good Singer and is more capable of singing different Style as Tarja is able to but she will never bring the Vibe Nightwish had with Tarja.
