Il n'y a pas, à ma connaissance, de DVD de ce spectacle.

Can someone please explain why they sing 'we WERE here', while we stil ARE (present tense) here? Or is this a song that's situated after our extinction?

Because song itself travels through time. From the big bang, creation of stars/universe, creation of Earth, creation of life, beginnings of humanity, modern civilization, wars, our culture, science and all the way to some fictional species that will evolve from us("rat kind"). You can look at it this way: "We WERE here" is probably THE last line in THE last book of THE last library ("..with the last light of the library..") humanity will ever write.
