This comment is for my amazing dad, with whom I never had a chance to say goodbye❤️ My father loved metal and this band was one of his favorites. When I hear this song, I want to cry because the last thing we could do for him was to pick his favorite songs, including this one, and let them play at his funeral. The cancer he had once defeated has returned, and unfortunatelly he lost his fight. He died when I was child but I will love him forever and he will never be forgotten.

This song was written for the August 11 solar eclipse in 1999. I still remember the strange darkness and chill setting in the middle of a sunny day. And six days later, right on Tarja's birthday, we had the biggest earthquake in our history (until then, unfortunately we had a bigger one last month) and our lives have never been the same again. This song means so much to me.

I heard this song for the first time in 2005. It completely fascinated me and it still fascinates me today. Tarja and Nightwish became my band of choice. I still listen to Tarja and Nigthwish today. I'm just very sorry I didn't have time to visit their concert with Tarja and Marko Hietala. I am 73 years old and in December I was at the Nigtwish concert in Prague. At least I got my wish that way.

2007 for me. It was used by a fan in an Anime Music Video over scenes of sad character deaths -- couldn't care about most of them, but the song utterly captivated me. And the video got deleted so I was looking for so long for it, then I got the song recommended to me randomly two years later. And I didn't have the song's name or even the people who made it. I was looking with utterly nothing. 'Wait,' I said to myself when I saw the track listed. 'Sleeping Sun... Why does that stick out to me?' And I listened to it and I was immediately gasping with shock because it was _that_ song. And I immediately started listening to Elvenpath and Ever Dream and the covers of Phantom Of The Opera and Walking In The Air. Tarja was already gone by that point - it was around the release of Imaginaerum. But I discovered a great band thanks to this song.

Without a doubt, this is the best version of this Nightwish song, her voice is incredible, the music haunting.

I was there Gandalf 25 years ago... When Nightwish was fresh and the trilogy was complete. I saw them live with Tarja. This will always be the best era and the only one that matter.

Who else is listening to this powerful and awe inspiring song in Summer 2022? I am and still tears of sheer raw emotions continue to fall like magick even now! Tarja is Queen!!

2024, the song take me to 7 october, to the sunrise at 06:30 when my friends died on the music festival. All were young, kind and spiritual people. "I wish for this night-time to last for a lifetime". Because they were dancing and happy at night, before the red dawn.

I never heard another song by Nightwish. But my good friend showed this song to me back in 2004 !!! I loved it, and still love it when i found it again !

I remember this song because of the Titanic not gonna lie, this is one of my favorite songs

I have loved every era of Nightwish over the years but Tarja was really amazing!!!

Listened to this song a few minutes ago during totality of the 2024 eclipse, that was such a unique experience

20 years ago, i was a 13 year scared little spanish girl when i first listen to this song, i couldnt understant it but i start crying, i promise myself that one day i would see that magic place. Today im listening this song in a lake of rovaniemi, im still crying like the first time. I have seen you guys in concert many times, and you are great, but being here in finland... its because of your music, you make people happy, you change lives. Kittos. And the rest is paska.

For me, this is the greatest metal ballad of all time but just this version, with this video...
