Wacken is a small town in northern germany with about 3700 people living there. Once a year they host the festival. This one in 2013 served 82000 Guests.

Nope! Only about 1850 inhabitants in Wacken. I have been there 3 times and am on the waiting list for tickets for this year for it was sold out in 4 hours.

Thats just so insane to believe having so many people there at the same time. Finland has kind of similar situation during the folk music festival when over 50k people arrive to city with 4k population and spend their time there for 7 days and there are 26 stages during that time for the artists. Its absolutely insane.

I went to wacken in 2005, 2009 and 2013 with my partner. In 2005 on the first night, we shared our mead we'd bought with some girl and guy we met in front of our fire and incredibly they told us they live in the area and let us camp in their back garden, use their kitchen and bathroom and effectively shared their house with us for the week. In 2009 we decided to go again and we ran into them on day two. The girl said "what are you doing in this field? You should have called us"..... In 2013 we called and we hung out with them all week again. Legends and a credit to the village.

Floor is Dutch, therefor she does a windmill style (headbanging). Nightwish goes from soft to epic and heavy. From symphonic to power metal. You nailed it Belle. Nightwish live is a special experience. Hope to see you again very soon.

Windmilling isnt specific to people from Netherlands xD. but she does have a unique style of doing it.

When Floor rotates her hair it's called a windmill as she is Dutch !! LOL Nightwish concerts are usually really friendly with a cross section of ages present. Sadly although a new album is coming out this year it might be over a year before another band tour. However I'm sure that Floor Jansen will be having several solo concerts especially in The Netherlands.

Yes, Floor is just starting a mini tour in Netherlands. I WILL BE THERE IN EINDHOVEN/NL ON THE FIRST OF JUNE!!!!! Can't stand the waiting.....

One of their heavier songs overall, from the same album as GLS, 2004's Once, Tarja era. Just a 3 octave glissando Floor does, no big deal😁🤘. Done in tandem with Marko, the studio recording only has his 2 octave slide. Yes, this entire concert is awesome, song # 11 of 15 for Romanticide. It's about a romance that has died out, time to move on. Your first time hearing Marko sing, he sang a lot of backing and co-lead , and a few on lead vocals with NW. Also sang lead in his first band , Tarot. Check out him singing lead on the cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes", live in Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era DVD).

Hello again, guys. Every Nightwish song is so different and their live performances are incredible. My wife and I had the great chance to see them perform live on May 18th, 2022 in San Francisco. Absolutely stunning show. Thank you both for continuing to react to these Nightwish live performances.

This year you will miss the Scorpions, Spiritbox and The Warning, the festival always sells out shortly after pre-sales start. Last year it sank into the mud and had to exclude 1/3 of the visitors because the campsite was no longer passable. Other festivals had to be canceled entirely because of the weather. “Older people” can also rent ready-made tents or small cabins. There are hotel rooms for the very old ones. Otherwise you can attend the supporting program in the village of Wacken. You don't need a ticket for this. Surviving in Wacken is considered easy because the visitors are extremely friendly. Many people have been coming to the festival for years.

Yep, Nightwish knows how to do in-your-face relentless energy very well 😁

Yeah, um, I have seen LOTS of Nightwish reaction videos. This is my all-time favorite!

Belle did round it up very Well:) Studio version sound great most of the Times, but Nightwish got to be digested Live, they are an Force of Nature on Stage, eager to interact with the Crowd:). Just expect everything , and expect nothing, when listening to an unknown NW Song for the first Time. its always different but always NW:) Stay Healthy! Metalhead frankonia, Germany.

This song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull .... On Steroids 🤘❤‍🔥🤘. The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast . AND,...Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). Great to see you back on the Nightwish train. It didn’t take long for Belle to get the goosies, or Floorgasms as they are more commonly called! Yes, Yours is an empty hope at Mexico City is great, also at Wembley 2015, but to my surprise I recently found out that you can hear (and see) this "little vocal surprise" best at Rock in Rio 2015. Floor's face expression in the end wants you to run away as fast as you can. 😁

Great reaction, Nightwish always change it up, the Wembley concert and the Tampere concerts are both excellent. I live about forty five minutes from download in Nottingham and have been a few times, it's great but you do get a headache the day after. Keep going guys, see you for the next one 🇬🇧

Wacken 2013 has set the standard ,every song from this headlining 15 song set is pure Gold,it's considered to be one of the bands pivotal events,well worth a deep dive

This one is pure adrenolin lol. With Nightwish, you never know. There are heavier and softer on every album. Tuomas is a poet and writes where his whims take him, with influences from everything from opera, to folk, to rock, to Celtic, to simply atmospheric. He is a genius and all songs are works of his art for us to enjoy. Maybe try Sahara for an example of how he uses different influences and themes at time. Of course Floor makes every song better too in my opinion. So good.

Wacken is already sold out for this year, it sells out so fast right after ticketsales start. But there are so many great metal and rock festivals out there, for sure some a little closer for you xD But also Germany in general has some nice ones. I'm going to Summer Breeze this year, which has an amazing line up, already super excited!!! Also can't wait when Nightwish will go on tour again but unfortunately that will be a while
