Ah, the inevitable Tarja vs Floor vs Anette conversation. My favorite thing about the whole Nightwish vocal situation is how Tuomas had the balls to bring in three very different singers, and see how all three of them give such unique (and awesome) takes on the same songs. Floor's probably my favorite Nightwish singer yet but honestly I think Nightwish's been blessed with three killer vocalists.. I just hope they can hold on to this one longer!

People are still bitching about Tarja not being in Nightwish?

I remember the time when I said that Floor was my favorite singer and Nightwish my favorite band, and that it would be perfect if they became a band together. And I remember when people said that it would never happen. lol

I am amazed, I am a 57 year old male who thought I would never find good new music again. In these days of musical garbage that I can only compare to pithy dog food, I not only discover a band I love but a group of some of the most talented people ever, in the last mouth I have watched the live concert from Wacken 2013 at least 20 times and plan to get the DVD. Please Nightwish, stay healthy, stay together, do whatever it takes so you can keep making this incredible music for years to come.

I've noticed a lot of people complaining about Tarja leaving. For one thing, she left back in October 2005, almost 9 years ago. You'd think they'd be over it by now. Furthermore, Tarja is still making music; she has been since2006. Instead of complaining that she isn't apart of Nightwish anymore, why not listen to her 4 solo albums that she's produced?

You know why? Because he solo songs are sucks... Bad qualities... That's why Tarjaholics want her back to the Nightwish... So that she can grab Toumas beautiful songs and claim them as her own songs... As a prove, although it's more than 9 years she left NW, she still sang NW songs in her concerts...

Greg S.B. Colours of the Dark is a brilliant album by her. The first two aren't so good. More epic bombastic stuff, less ballads.

Erika Gabrielle I agree. My Winter Storm and What Lies beneath had a few decent songs here and there, but Colours was consistently good (especially Victim of Ritual and Never Enough).

There were only two bad songs on Colours: Lucid Dreamer and Darkness. I personally think that she should've put Into the Sun in Darkness's place. It would've added a nice calming moment before Deliverance. The thing is Tarja's voice NEEDS the heavy bombastic fast pace stuff to sound truly amazing. It's too powerful for ballad work. While Anette's voice is delicate, ideal for ballad work.

Erika Gabrielle That's a good way to put it, actually. I think this more bombastic feel to Colours may mean that Tarja's caught on to this, too. At least, I hope so. That would mean her next album would be more bombastic as well. People may call Tarja's old work bad, but her newer music, I believe, will prove Tarja to truely be efficient at writing music after all.

What? 48 hours for Floor to learn the set list, and she comes out and ROCKS! I am loving it!! And cannot wait for the new material!!

I love it !!!!! Remember people, in this video is Floor's very first Nightwish show, the beginning part of the video shows how nervious she was and beforehand she only had 48 hrs to memorize 15 set list., so it is normal to have some mistakes and it happens. For all the haters or people who compares vocalist all the time, at least give her some credit for that and enjoy the music. You don't like it? simple don't listen to it then and listen to something else. No one is going to stop you :D

Floor is their best vocalist IMO. She has a lot of the great resonant qualities that Tarja had, but packs a more edgey punch and brings a more modern flavor. Which makes for kind of the best of both worlds IMO.

I agree, +evening ninja . I also think she has a better stage presence than Tarja had. Floor is more interesting to watch, and to top it off, she doesn't sport yellow, color coordinated, microphones!!

Please, please, PLEASE NIGHTWISH! Put this back on the setlist. Floor absolutely slays this song. But saying that, it wouldn't be the same without Marco. 😪

But Nightwish filmed a bit of these shows... as always. Maybe we get some bonus live recordings to the DVD they'll release for the virtual show, let's hope

Yes, I do agree with you. Floor sang " Planet Hell" , alone, in Hellefest XV. It was si great, she dit it so well, so rock. I did love her voice!!! 😍Then, "Planet Hell" diseappared from the playlist, why? To tiring for her? One of my Dreams, listen to Floor singing again "Planet Hell" for a live 🙏

Wow she's good! I was a bit skeptical when they announced another new singer but her vocals are a perfect blend of Tarja and Anette's while sounding more power metal. Her real test will be how she sounds on a new album and what way Tuomas writes the vocals to suit her voice.

No, her real test was over with the Imaginaerum Tours... And she passed with the grade A+, because it's only needed six months to convince all of NW members to ask her to stay as permanent NW singer... For comparison, Troy needs 6 years, Anette needs 2 years... Next Album actually the test for Tuomas ability to create songs that could maximize Floor singing ability and versatility in them...

This is one of my favorite Nightwish songs - it's one of the most powerful that the band has ever written and Marco's vocals are killer. As a former classical soprano myself, I always liked the old Nightwish with Tarja, this song really needs a strong vocal and Floor really nails it. I feel that she has a certain metal edge, she's like a combination of Tarja and Doro Pesch. She is amazing on this. This could be the best version of Planet Hell yet.

Floor Jansen.... Her performances speak for themselves. Such a beautiful combination of style, technique and delivery. The way she transitions from full voice to falsetto, operatic to belting is so seamless and smooth... the full spectrum to say the least and such a rare joy to hear and experience.Not to mention a commanding stage presence like no other. One of the finest vocalists of our time, IMHO.

I will admit, Jansen's voice knocked me for a loop in a terrible way when Anette left, but after listening here, I realize I was simply shocked by the change. She doesn't try to mimic the original singers and her own touch is marvelous. She is her own, and she brings a new color to the banner of Nightwish, and it is a beautiful shade. :)

WOW....... I can finally listen to Nightwish again. Nothing against Annette personally but she was just a really bad fit. She didn't have the charisma or strength to support the vocals after Tarja. Tarja also really had a lot of presence. While I still prefer Nightwish with Tarja, Floor is a great fit and I am finally enjoying Nightwish again. Thank you Nightwish, for finding someone with the strength to front your amazing band!
