It is truly something to absorb, the unifying power of music!

And here we also have evolution of another kind -- the evolution of Tuomas Holopainen as a composer, lyricist, and poet. One of the greatest of our time, IMO. This carries the one of the themes from "The Greatest Show on Earth" further. The line "Not a single one of your fathers died young." has always resonated with me. It goes even beyond our homan form to the very beginning of life itself. Each generation had to live long enough to procreate. This is a masterwork, and makes me even more eager for the album.

He is a creative genius of our time, and he surrounds himself with virtuosos who can deliver his message at a level that can be difficult to appreciate, because it's so artistic and amazing. All about the universe, planet earth, living creatures and humanity. I get inspired listening to these albums because it reminds us as to how miraculous and special we all are.

I have said this many times, and will say it forver on .. Tuomas does not 'write songs', he creates experiences, and it does take a certain amount of having lived a life and learned things to understand what he is trying to say.

Nightwish makes you wonder, I love it

I truly believe that Floor had some fun with that puppet at the beginning of the video...

They had freediver instead of CGI: Freedivers: Guillaume Néry (Footage from “One Breath Around The World” filmed by Franck Seguin ), Tommi Pasanen, Pavlos Kourtellas and Edited & Directed by: Ville Lipiäinen, same man who did Wacken 2013 and is still a great visual qenius beside Tuomas. Reading his mindworld and transfer perfection to vids.

Beautiful reaction ❤ I been Nightwish fan for decades, I have all their albums since 1996 and waiting for the 10th album next September. Tuomas, our metal Mozart I love his music. In my opinion Tuomas should be declared Finnish national treasure. That how good he is writing and composing music. I had trouble times few years ago but Nightwish music healed my broken heart. And I thank Tuomas for that. This video, shows me as years go on and on how Tuomas and his work, Nightwish music gets mature and mature. Brilliant video work also I love it.

It's great but you know the live version will blow it out the park as they do. Hopefully they will tour again.

NW Army PNW Division here. This is what unconstrained genius looks and sounds like. Tuomas is a visionary and he does exactly what he pleases and goes wherever his muse takes him. It's on us to keep up and follow along. That he leaves many behind is no surprise. This... this composition is fucking epic. And it's as deep as the Marianas Trench.

Symphonic metal is not necessary evolutionary....but NW and Tuomas makes his mark on this connection in a triology of albums. The new one is the third. Earlier albums do handle different items even though ocean and sea has been the line all the time in NW. Yes...they are really more than music...and brilliant intelligent deep stories for people to think about.

That is visually an amazing music video. P.S. Given all your ancestors & past generations, the probability of you being born you, is less than one divided by the number of atoms in the universe.

I've seen this video four times today, and I'm only now getting to the point where I can pay any real attention to the music and lyrics. There's just *so much* imagery to process here that it's overwhelming the first few times around. Wow. Great reaction, and you could probably do a part 2 and 3 to really dig into this if you wanted.

Funny that the first thing you said when you heard the lyrics, was "let's turn this up". Also that you say you're having trouble isolating floors vocals. It was my first impressions too. And let me tell you this - you got it - today I actually saw what delights you, what moves you, what makes you smile.... Therefore? My advice is very simple - before the new Nightwish album comes out, I highly recommend you - listen to their album “Human. :II: Nature”! Not any particular song - just listen to all the songs from this album. This is their latest album - the song you listened to heralds the next one. At one time I would have written “I hope you like it”. But today I can tell you - you will be delighted!

Nightwish is awesome! Love what they do with all their songs. Being a drummer all my life and having a love for classical they are a perfect mix of both worlds. :)

For me, it doesn't matter that I can't make out all the lyrics, I enjoy swimming in the sound. I usually don't pay attention to the lyrics for at least a few listens anyway.

I can't remember another band, except for perhaps Rush, that make me think about things....deep things...like NW does.

Caught this as it was released and what can I say, Tuomas the biologist coming through again. I had the same reaction as yourself Red grinning the whole way through this. I never get tired of the combination of the heaviness of the music (the contrast with the soaring symphonic aspect always get me) and the often ethereal voice of Floor.

If I could ave 1 criticism of Nightwish Is that I feel the vocals are to quiet in the mix. on the recordings This not just with Floor but all 3. This is why I feel they are just better live. I do understand that my, "stupid american" thing has a to to do with this but in the US, the vocals are always so loud, and to be honest most of the time TOO loud. This is the same artistic choice as tool. Nonetheless, this is a great song and can't wait till the next one drops as well as the full record. This album will be an early birthday gift for me.

Excellent reaction! Unlike a lot of other reactors you really listen to the song before pausing to make a quick, concise point. You’re not the first to comment on the mix of the sound track. I agree with you that Floor could be a bit more forward in the mix. Still a stunning piece of work though!

Need to track back around to Epica as well???? Try ‘once upon a nightmare’ live from the Omega Alive show for something that is not too heavy but brilliant in every way.

I know it's totally different, this song is much heavier and mostly sung by floor, but for me it has a similar feeling like "Harvest"... Which is a good thing in my eyes... Ears.

Jukka Koskinen from Wintersun. He played all the live shows last tour. Honestly, I like his bass tone and how he plays.

I thought it might be a harp at the end, not sure. Great wasn't it! I found it hard to hear the lyrics too, I think Floor's voice is lost a little in the mix. Tuomas's lyrics are often thought provoking. I think you're ready for The Greatest Show On Earth. 😊 The live at Wembley version is possibly the best one.

Tuomas has gone in for a lot of ecological mysticism in this video, even more than before. The music is really good, a heavier, driving sound than before. I like it. I think Floor might get lost in all the sounds, though ...

Worst mix of a Nightwish I have ever heard, they drowned Floor's vocals terribly....As far as the song and video, this could be the best ever....Tuomas such a genius, Kai on drums is magnificent, absolutely wonderful work....And of course we have the Redhead coming to us with another great reaction....Bless You
