Never was a fan of England Dan & John Ford Coley. I always loved this song, though. It was massive in Australia, so I heard it often on Radio Australia late at night, and I guess it grew on me. Great lead guitar parts by Steve Gibson, who played on a gazillion soft rock & country hits. The hardest part about hearing this is not that the 70's are long gone, it's that the sentiment behind songs like this seems to have faded. Today's 'dating' world is a cutthroat, superficial mess -- swipe left, swipe right, AI bots with stolen profile pics saying they want to meet you when they just want to mine your data... But hearing tracks like this takes you back to a different world, where romance and love still had a part to play..... Great song. Thanks for posting this. Peace out to everyone.

Today it would be considered a power ballad.
Love it these guys are great .
Probably one of the best power ballads ever written...that chorus just hits like a ton of bricks. I remember this was a huge hit on Toronto radio in the Summer of '76 (I was 12) you would hear it everywhere....I wish I could go back.
now that's a song 😊
