I am 57 yrs old and sometimes I think I get too wrapped up in the music from the 70's and 80's that it is unhealthy. These songs just bring back so many wonderful memories that it puts me in a sad place that I know I shouldn't be. I adore this song and many others from the era that just bring back wonderful times that will never happen again. It is said often in these threads but if I had a time machine I would go back.

Too sad for me personally. Yes, it's very moving, but it's a very sad melody about seeing someone you love and spent years with, but you can never be with them again - ever. Yes, you go crazy inside but not in a good way. The song makes me depressed, as do many of the late 70s songs like this. I much prefer the more upbeat songs from the 60s and early 70s as well as 1980s New Wave. Stuff that doesn't make me depressed when I listen to it. Just my 2 cents

When I Go Crazy played on the local radio station, I kept listening before and after to get the name of the singer so I could spend 99 cents to buy the 45 record. Well, nimrod that I was, I kept hearing the DJ's name from the station and thought it was the singer's name. Couldn't find it...Finally, after several weeks, Paul Davis's name was mentioned. I think I still have the 45. :)

Oh yes the eyes of your love are something that you do in fact get a type of crazy as it should be there is a very enjoyable experience for the person who is got those eyes close and if you have never looked into your loves eyes and jjust get lost in a very deep way .You want to be in a couch or whatever it is that you are relaxed and facing each other. I have done this for long periods of time usually after we have went crazy so we are not as evicted. You may find this to be almost hypnotic or trance inducing, That is the goal it takes a good relaxing effort and the way you can loose yourself in the eyes of your love is very calming and uplifting. You may experience deep relaxation and as you both cherish the silent time to be close to each other in a new way. If you get lost in the eyes of your love you will feel as if your using a ability to look at the eyes or at this point I will call it gazing into the window of the soul and I hope your into all that. If not you may be if you can take it to the point where your eyes loose some focus and you will know what I'm talking about normally one will notice something and say that they just hit a mild cognitive impairment of the eyes and they will be anxious to get back to it. Don't give up on it. If you are calm and patient people, you should enjoy this if your not already doing it. It will become as important as other valued alone time.

I know this is strange, but this song brings back so many emotions and feelings. I was in junior high when this song was popular (1977) and I remember laying in my room, listening to my little 9v transistor radio, and day-dreaming about this girl I had a crush on. Yea I hear you but the break down of family started in the 70s and got alot worse Thank God I was just on the surface of it I was 8 years old when this was played and I loved it then...I was also spanked when I did wrong and paraded when I did right. But now that is being lost no accountability in our government or anything else God forbid Lord help us before its too late!!!
It brings back memories of being excited about life and innocent as a young child. Melancholy is the right term.
Exactly!😢 I would not trade this song or the memories for the world. Well said.
He had such a voice! RIP, great singer. God bless your soul for ever!!
What a very beautiful song! Everyone has been at this point in life, and Paul writes it so wonderfully! R.I.P. Paul

Jason Richer Thanx Jason, This will always be in my heart, along with the most unbelievable girl God ever put on this Earth. The tears will always be with me when I hear this, as God took her way to soon.
Watching him sing this you can tell he feels every word. I do too. ❤
I lost my husband 11/13/22 at just 56 years old. This song resonates when looking at his photos. We had it all..we just didn’t have it long enough.

Yes. I've just discovered Paul Davis and searching all his performances in concert singing this song.
Something about this guy... he sings deep from the heart. Songs that make me teary-eyed. Just beautiful. Fighting the tears now. Songs like this are not written and sung anymore.

Beautiful song 🎧
I’m 55 years old and this hits different and deep. It was when music was amazing and beautiful. The 70s and 80s were the best times for music. No questions about it! ❤😅❤️🙏🏽
Pure talent without autotune, I honestly miss the 70's big time. I was born in 1960 and keep getting drawn back to this era and the hard rock era all the time. To me it was just a great time to grow up. The music now only has a choice few talented artists and groups but it seems like there isn't the same amount as when I grew up.

Amen. If you need autotune to get through a song and make yourself “sound good” get off the stage! These people made hits without it!

I'm 73 and this is one of my favorites!! It reminds me of a love I had while I was in college!!! Paul Davis was a master!!! He wrote such great songs!! He is sadly missed!!!
Who could ever forget this? It will never be forgotten or replaced ! 😅❤
This song still gives me shivers. ❤️
Paul Davis is one of the best songwriters of soft, rock music. May he rest in peace and God bless him.
Im 65. And if it weren't for the music of the 60s and 70s I would go crazy. That's what gets me thur today's nuttiness
