The more you explain any of your thought processes the more valuable the content is to the community. Long or short format I'm here for it. If you can create any synergies with the duelist greataxe I'd be in your debt. I run one with an off hand club, and it's a struggle but worth it for the drip. There's already some interesting mix ups with animation canceling into the club, or delayed follow ups etc. Storm stomp feels a bit more honest on that setup than others, use the club to pressure and bait an attack then stomp and combo the axe into it. Stamp sweep can work as well, braggarts roar r2-r1. It's a terrible setup for competitive play, but what's the point in playing if you don't look cool doing it, I'm sure you could manage it's weaknesses

You could try how 1.10 changed 2h nagi with onion samurai gameplay as a base, first light got buffed but the fast followup for most mixups got lowered in poise right? So i dont know if its betterr or worse for mind games, pair it with repeating thrust and bloodflame Blood Banished knight gs with arcane / dragon spells is also fun, with the 2h and 1h true combos you can do a lot of bleed

Chilling mist works really well with this weapon. It has very similar animation as the second R1 or R2 attack so the delayed timing catches a lot of people off guard. Then the stun let’s you follow up with a roll catch. If they don’t roll they get frostbite. The frostbite timing is fairly consistent so it’s possible to hit them right after the frostbite stun and you can one shot with this combo.

@@edw626I would run it heavy cause of the bonus 2 hand damage and insane S scaling in strength then you also get the crazy buildup from chilling mist

Extremely consistent once you have the timing down. But it's also distance dependent (medium to max range on the R1). Plus, if you miss the headshot and they roll in, the follow up R1 will roll catch giving you access to the other true combo: R1 (2) -> early hit R1 (3).

GGs on our duels! Honestly, the frost proc ghost hit keeping me in place for the follow up is just gross lmao.

part of me really wants to believe you can do those perfect blocks consistently and it's not just the power of montage, but man freaking elden wrong with it's connection and bulshittery it really is like playing a different game every 20ms of latency... nice clips either way, sharp movement and slick combos! as a halberd main i love seeing that stuff.

I use this weapon as a main and I love it. I learned a lot from this video, specially the blending. Thank you. I would absolutely appreciate some commentary on your actions during the fights. I find it hard countering the close-ups after a failed R1 because of the slow movement of the glaive’s follow ups. Do you recommend Unlock and roll out, or? Thanks in advance.

Yup, but honestly this entire move set is extremely good. There’s a lot of depth and a use case for almost every type of attack.

Lotta people prefer the thrust R1 of some of the other halberds but the range on the downwards slash is still pretty damn good and you get unparalleled anti air

R1 has to hit at distance (medium to max) and the throwing dagger is very slightly delayed

@@christophercole1679 Don't knock it so easily. Despite it being backstab-centric to a fault, it is still more tactical and positioning-focused than DS3/BB/ER. Plus, tech like perfect blocking, raviolis, and toggling make it quite enjoyable to get good at it - and those are just baseline techniques, there's plenty more, though some are niche.

@Ashlevon nah if I want more technical duels I'll play some dark souls 2. Dark souls 1 is only fun if you pvp with a friend. With gets old. Every random only is there to cheese. And the glitches are too much.

The ash of war is bugged so that it functions like the actual Malenia boss fight where you need to parry 3 times to get a riposte

The neutral R1 is pretty slow and telegraphed, so block canceling and turn-around blending make it much harder to react to
