NIGHTMARE Train Fiasco In Poland - Olomouc To Krakow 🇨🇿🚂🇵🇱

Yes we are lost somewhere in Poland. We started off the day in the cute town of Olomouc, Czech Republic, on our way to Krakow, Poland. Being our first train ride in Eastern Europe we were not expecting the chaos that would soon take place. Missing train cars, no seats, standing room only to clueless staff, where in the world are we?
So come along and enjoy our pleasure to pain trip from Olomouc to Krakow!
This was a part of our Euro travel from Oct to Nov, 2020.
A Couple of Nomads?
About Us
Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home base. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, born and raised in small town, Ohio.
We left our jobs, family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic. We decided to that we should also start a KZread channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! If you want to see how a couple of expats can live the Mediterranean dream, and you want to join us on our journey...then subscribe, we would love to have you as part of our extended family!
Cheers!
Vicky & Josh

Reading information in the timetable and on the carriages is a difficult art, but it's worth it.

It would have been better if the digital sign on the train changed. Or the person that worked for the train company when I asked if this train was going to Krakow said no, when they were separating them. Or the conductor when he scanned my ticket when the train was separated said I was on the wrong train. Or, wait if the original train car and seat that I booked in advance was even attached to the train, so we weren’t on the wrongly separated train. But yeah, knowing timetables is good.

@@ACoupleofNomads In Europe (especially in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria) joining and then separating night trains is the norm.

Not fun when it happens but...now you have a great story to tell. I have been on a few trains in Italy where I asked at least three people if it was the correct train. 2 out of 3 said yes. LMAO. At least the food is good there.

Very little of Olomouc. What did you think of the place?

It was a beautiful place! Unfortunately it was a stop over town for us, so didn’t get to spend a lot of time there. 😊

@@ACoupleofNomads I used to live there. It's a very nice place. I would recommend the Flix Bus to Krakow if you were to redo the trip. I traveled there a few times when I lived in Olomouc. Olomouc isn't pronounced at all how it looks by the way. It's pronounced Olo-moats . Took me a good few months to get it right

Now that you can drive, perhaps renting a car sometimes would be worth it. Perhaps the problem is that enjoying great beer as there is in Central Europe or great wines as we enjoy in the south are not compatible with driving. PS: I love public transportation so much that I do not drive. But maybe it is not your case.
