I am not sure if it is of interest to anybody. But the reason why there are no people is that in Switzerland farmers have and had a three level farming strategy. Due to the steep mountains, there is not enough grassy flat terrain in the valleys to provide food for larger cow hearts. So farmers (cow and milk production) live during wintertime in the valley bottom with all their animals. During may month they take all the cattle and move up to about an altitude of 1500 meters. This is the second station (called Maiensäss). The cows then eat all the grass on that level. In July they move even higher up to an altitude of 2500 meters (called an Alp) and stay there until the end of August, eating up all the grass there. Then they move back to the second level until October, where the grass has regrown over summer time and then with the first snowfall they move back to the valley bottom. This system of cow farming is used since over 3000 years and is a very effective way to maximize the use of the natural resources in a very steep and mountainous region. The village you see is a second level settlement. If I look at the rainfall and the water quantity of the waterfall, it is early spring time in this video. Way too soon for the second level. People and cattle will come there in Mai.

Believe me -- I have spent over 50 years traveling in Switzerland -- Cities and villages -- North, south, east, and west -- and it's beautiful. But Ticino is my favorite canton, with orange trees and palm trees, and many other unexpected delights.

Jokes aside, I've lived here for decades now and traveled the world a lot and I am never sad to return (apart from when I come back from Scandinavia and Japan, those two places keep calling, but that's another story), It's just an amazing country, beautiful beyond imagination to the point that it still gets my jaw dropping even though I was born here.

This is now my dream destination & I want to go there solo & peacefully explore & peacefully sit near the waterfall for hours & hours, no internet, no bother, I think my heart would feel a lot better.

An amazing and serene, abandoned ancient village. A masterpiece of stone and wood construction, many many years ago. No roads, no grocery stores or retail❗ just beautiful little homes & awesome Nature.🕊💎🕊 Love the mystic of old Switzerland.(!)

The village is more or less abandonned during winter. No road goes there, just a massive hike (I believe 6 or 8 hrs) to get there - or by helicopter if you can affort.
