The painting is not related to any form of huntings. I’m art historian and I have read and watch multiple text and documentaries. Starry night was painted when Van gogh was in asylum and the window present in his cell through which he looked, has the scene. His style of painting and why it have a flowing pattern is the style of oil painting called impasto. He was revolting again other art movements at his time. There was shift and he was not celebrated as he didn’t went to school or displayed his work in salons. Which was big deal back then even it is now as well. Successful artist believe there is a criteria you need to fit in to call yourself fine artist. His mental state is depicted in the painting. With continuous failure at that time (he is famous now, when he was alive he didn’t fit in his peers, wasn’t able to receive proper education and sold only one work) and time of depression infected by surrounding he lost his mental state. Him trying to murder Gauguin and cutting his ear gifting to the prostitution he often visited. Were the sign of final stages of depression. He often neglected his health, didn’t eat properly and skipped mental hospital even having multiple psychotic breaks. I’m answering this because it bother me when most of people are infatuated with the idea of famous artist and they painted think might related to hunting because of stories forming time after time and passing onward. Hardly any non art students or enthusiast try to study and look for the actual facts. The movement that were happening in art era were adjacent with the time of multiple wars and that affected the mental state of common people which included many artist. The concept of starving artists was very common at that time. Most of the artist or painting we know now are famous and valued but they weren’t when they were alive or made. I have no hate for hunting tube. I love his channel. Yes he bring amazing concept.

I have one theory. What if the projectionist was a time traveler who also had been visiting different parallel universes for the same person. For the first story, he was in a universe where Samantha was actually infected and had to go through that. Later after getting it all video taped with some very advance device, he travelled to a different universe and decided to show the same person what is going on with their other version in a different universe. He killed the father because he deemed him evil for his actions in a different universe. Riley was witnessing all those events because he was actually the projectionist stuck between 2 different timeline and was living in both at the same time. He wasn't seeing the souls. He saw the living individuals of different timeline
