Besides that having compassion for the victims instead of laughing at them, and seeking ways to bring justice and peace to the world at the best of your abilities instead of thinking in money only makes you truly human, thing is, conflicts at the other side of the world can and likely will affect you directly. Both World Wars started with small conflicts in foreign countries - and the USA had to send soldiers to defend its own interests. Aren't you in age to serve? Remember Vietnam? Korea? Russia's invasion of Ukraine messed up international economy, which include yours, and if Putin isn't stopped there, you might find yourself in uniform like the Greatest Generation any time. If Israel manages to conclude its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank using American weapons, you can be certain that too many Palestinians/Arabs/Muslims/anyone who has something against the USA, around the world, will consider you a target, at home or abroad. Chilean here. I grew up in a dictatorship because Nixon didn't want a socialist president at the other extreme of the continent, even if he had been legitimately elected. We have the largest Palestinian colony in the continent. Do you really think that what your country does or does not at the other side of the world can't possibly affect you? Think carefully before coming to Chile (or anywhere) if the situation in Palestine ends in disaster. As a minimum, your country's insane military budget means you have no public healthcare or affordable education - and the little space within your cranium is occupied with thoughts about your debts. See how international politics does affect you?
