Elmo's very first appearance (a song about monsters, I can't remember what it was called) also had him with a gruff voice, and a thick New York accent. Funnily enough, the only version of that song that Sesame Workshop will circulate has Kevin's voice dubbed over it!

I just saw this movie on Nexflix and it was amazing. Inspiring, Heartwarming and sweet. I felt like a kid again.

I truly feel sorry for Kevin, a man with so much love in his heart, and so much talent, who endured a childhood of bullying and scorn for who he was. He finally achieves his life's ambition of becoming a core Henson puppeteer, and in many ways becomes the biggest reason Sesame Street is still a phenomenon, and out come a few pathetic, shameless vultures looking to make a buck by attempting to ruin him. Fwiw I support Kevin 100%, and would jump at the chance to have him childmind for my daughter

Kevin really has "it". He is the heart and soul of Elmo. I respect him for walking away when it became clear that the allegations against him would become a distraction if he stayed. Still, Elmo isn't really Elmo anymore. Ryan Dillon has the voice down for sure but Elmo's heart is and always will be with Kevin. Hopefully, he's doing well wherever he is and maybe someday, he can find his way back to doing what he clearly loves.

One little red puppet that changes lives more than our own politicians. Saw this documentary in the Spring...didn't expect to get a perfect mix of laughs and tears. An emotional journey about following your dreams. Definitely a movie that anybody with or without a heart should see.

A bunch of money-hungry attention whores managed to singlehandedly destroy Kevin Clash's life's work, without giving two fucks about it. I hope those assholes suffer in every way possible.

Since there's been so little "old evidence" re-released up to now, it hasn't been entirely clear if Richard Hunt actually performed a character called "Elmo" or if it was just a recurring but nameless red monster who didn't assume the "Elmo" identity until Clash took him over. This certainly clears that up. But yeesh---it's probably a long shot that we'll ever see much more of Hunt's Elmo. Releasing it would cause a lot of confusion among the kids. They'd freak out! XD

sadly that is a reoccurring incident in the life of Muppeteers. I think their partners forget to remember that hey were puppeteers before they were married and will be forever. This kind of passion just doesn't go away.

My favourite Muppet is actually Cookie Monster, but Elmo is DEFINITELY second! Then it's Kermit and Miss Piggy :P It is true why people love Elmo. Elmo loves everybody and that is a quality that so many of us take for granted!
