NIGHTJAR CHICK Flapped Wings, Begged to be Fed

Two interesting observations on this 12th day of the Large-tailed Nightjar Chick's life: It was lovely to watch this little Large-tailed Nightjar Chick flapping its little wings for the first time! It was otherwise still glued to Mummy, leaving her side only to do its business.
And what a nice surprise to see it begging from its Mum, although the latter declined to feed.
Nightjars are nocturnal, hunting & feeding from dusk to dawn.
Large-tailed Nightjars are common residents in Singapore.

I am very grateful to be able to observe this precious nesting as it was relatively accessible. Not much is known about nightjar nestings, so that makes it even more interesting. Thanks for watching!😊
