My mum always tells me that since I try to be like her, kind and cheerful... but I also notice she's hiding the dark things that happen to her, having to change jobs... sometimes cries in her office... but even with those issues, she still keeps her head up and smiles.. because she's not strong, but because she wants to keep moving forward... that's what I want to be too, so I become generous towards friends and family, I stay loyal to my relationships even if they aren't loyal, I always have a smile on my face even if I'm upset because I know that there is always light when there's darkness... and without light, there wouldn't be darkness. ^ ^

I relare to this song so much. I have scars all over my ankle since i'm afraid to do it in my wrist because i'm scared of people's Critisization. Wears a fake smile and a happy mask. Will break down easily once someone finds out about my cuts. But here i am, still standing and breathing through sobs. Still see the road that i chose to walk on with tear filled eyes. I'm sorry life has been hard for you. You don't heave to hide who you really are. I don't know you in real life, but I know that if I did, and you told me that you cut yourself, and you sobbed in front of me, it wouldn't change how I would feel about you. I would still respect you as much as I did before, and I would want to to support you. I wouldn't think any less of you. You don't have to feel shame at the idea of breaking down in front of people, and having people want to help you is not a weakness. I hope you can be honest with others about how you feel, because I think that will cause you to feel free, and I think it's the first step to healing. I hope that the pain that you feel goes away, and I hope you don't feel the need to have to cut yourself. I hope you can keep walking and never give up. You are stronger than you realize.

Hi , firstly it’s been a year since your comment , I hope things are looking up for you . If not read on , I am in my fifties and have a great life BUT it wasn’t always that way . I left home a day before my 14 birthday to go live on the streets, anything was better than what faced me at home. I survived by doing the things that only street kids can do to survive . My demons drove me to alcohol and drugs, I tried and I tried to numb my pain but nothing worked for long . I ended up with 3 drug overdoses which I survived but then come the 4th one, this one was planned , I had enough of life, all I knew was pain so I injected and injected and then once more , then waited to drift off in to a non awakening sleep . But then a strange event occurred , paramedics were sent to an address where a woman had collapsed , the paramedics had the wrong address and they come thru my door and found me drifting off , one of the paramedics saw me as more than just another ‘junky’ and refused to let me die , I remember her words to me , “It’s Christmas Day, no one dies today” . I awoke in hospital to a totally alien outlook on life , a total stranger had cared more for my life than I had , it was at that moment that I realised I wasn’t “Nothing” . The paramedic visited me in hospital and helped me get in to rehab , this in turn gave me access to psychologists. I learnt that my ‘Demons’ weren’t of my making , my demons were put there by abusive parents and as such I should have no shame or no guilt . Over time I lost my anger and self pity and I finally dropped the “Wall” that I had built up to keep others out . I finally let the world know Me, to know who I was . I went on to study and this led to a job , a very , very good job . I now have had an amazing life with a wife 2 kids and 2 grandkids . I sit out on my back porch when we have barbecues and just watch my family and thank God that I chose Christmas Day all those years ago to try and end my life cos this put that paramedic on course to be there for me when I needed it the most . This paramedic not only saved my life but also put me on track to finally Live not just to be alive . So my advice to you is that whatever demons you have inside know this , you were just a kid , those demons don’t belong to you , YOU have it within you to let those Demons go , trying to numb the pain with drink or drugs does NOT work , you have to instead Forgive the wrongs you’ve suffered and move on , your demons will then leave you and you can start to Live again, it won’t be easy but it does get Easier . Please , please don’t go down the path I did cos each day it gets harder and harder to live with yourself . Also note that everything I suffered as a kid went towards making the man I became , I made sure my kids were smothered in love and they always, always came first . When you get Life right it can be a wonderful experience, but it does take hard work , it seems that you’ve experienced the crap that life has to offer , Now it’s up to YOU to experience the great things that Life can offer. My heart goes out to you and even though I’m just a stranger, I really do hope you make it . Take Good Care . R .

This song reminds me of how I feel. I've never felt like I had a place that I can call home. I'm an outcast. I felt that way until I met my friends that made me start to think positive. This song reminds me of them. I used to have a fake smile but now my smile is real. But one of my friends know that deep inside I'm hurting. She is always there to comfort me.

This has been one of my favorite songs recently for a couple months xD great song

"Fatherless but fearless" That hit me hard, I grew up without a dad and had to learn how to do all the things a father would have told and teached me. I had to learn how to be fearless.

When I was younger- I didn’t realize the depth of this.. This isn’t about being homeless it’s about having a house, but yet not feeling ‘at home’

The very first line had me struck, FEELS DAYM IT SO RELATABLE R SKSJSKSJKSJ ㅠㅡㅠ

I went from being homeless(like without a house homeless) and going between family's houses when my mom couldn't get us a house, but I still had my home because my home was with my family. Now being in foster care I dont have a home at all, I live in a house that's it. This song says all the words I couldnt

This message is great. Always stay true to others and yourself. If you don't, you may lower your hopes in life... you might no be that popular person or you might not have anyone's attention but.. don't give up or else you might lose the people that you have. Always stay strong and true no matter what happens!

Oh Dear, I can relate so much to this fricking amazing song xd Though it's like damn ironically, cuz my light is 'just' a voice in my head, a dark shadow.

This song fits me in so many ways

I don't feel like this going through my everyday life. But when ever I hear a song I can feel the pain the writer went through. I am pretty sure because I am empathetic. I can't be sympathetic because I never felt what they did. But being empathetic is diffrent. I put myself in their shoes. I try to understand. Listening to music takes me through a rollercoaster. For example what this song is to me is about a girl who is lost. She has been through alot. She cries because of what she went through. But still she is hopeful. Hopeful that things will get better. Hopeful that she will find her place. She also stays strong despite what is happening. People around her never see the whole story. Also I just want to say, songs mean diffrent things to different people. I made a story because of it. You may see something diffrent. You might cut straight to the message of the song. I do diffrent things for different songs.
