Night Trains at Violet Town - Passenger & Freight Trains

Having not visited Victoria's North East line in a while I decided to head to Violet Town one evening to film some trains and see what would rock up. In the two and a half hours I was there I got a decent haul of passenger and freight trains.
We start on the Melbourne-bound platform where we see the up V/Line Albury service to Melbourne hauled by N474, before seeing Pacific National 4CM6 grain train from Oaklands (NSW) to North Geelong hauled by 8159 & BL26. On the Albury-bound platform we see the down V/Line Albury service hauled by N464, before seeing another Pacific National freight train; this time 4MS2 intermoal from Melbourne to Sydney hauled by NR71, NR111, LDP001, AN4 & NR56.

Terrific that you film all the length of trains. 4MS2 was a very decent length at about 80 platforms/vehicles with only about four of the container wagons devoid of loading: great. The head of PN says demand has risen, partly due to all the troubles road transport is having with COVID-19. The incredibly poor patronage of the up and down evening Albury passenger trains (about two were on the up to Southern Cross, and roughly five on the down) is because with the five kilometre travel restriction in Melbourne at the time (as is my assumption), very few were eligible to travel. Even worse today as country Victoria has similar restrictions (except no curfew). "Thanks" Dictator Dan!

Did anyone see the southern aurora carriage right next to the station
Nice video there is some good traffic that passes violet town. If you go there in the morning you might get an XPT.

Thanks! I would have seen the XPT had it been running, but due to the COVID situation in NSW it's currently not running south of the border.
Question: why is there a carriage parked in what looks like a really small siding across from the station platform?

That carriage is NAM 2337, which was a sleeper car from the Southern Aurora; the overnight train that ran between Melbourne and Sydney. Violet Town was the location on the Southern Aurora train crash on the 7 February 1969 when the train collided head on with a VR goods train, which resulted in nine deaths. NAM 2337 is part of the Southern Aurora Memorial Gardens which was recently completed adjacent to the station to pay tribute to those involved in the accident.
