I couldn't let Halloween go by without a suitably ghoulish video, and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by how bloodthirsty Night Slashers turned out to be. The game is, to all intents and purposes, Final Fight crossed with Dawn of the Dead. Pile-driving zombies and other nightmarish monsters is pretty good fun, and the enemy deaths are accompanied by suitably gory animations.
The other thing to note is the game has a pretty rocking soundtrack full of screaming electric guitars and crashing beats, and there are some delightfully slurpy effects whenever a bad guy dissolves into a pile goop!
Happy Halloween 🎃 👻

I just watched over 30 minutes of a cybernetic warrior piledrive vampires in the dirt. I have no regrets.

"You won't be transforming anybody, buddy!" He said, over the hotdog on the floor.
Listen close. Jake says "Back to the abyss!" when he piledrives an enemy.
That soundtrack is fucking rockin'!
OMG! I totally forgot about this game! Didn't even remember its existence up until now! It's been like... 25+ years since the last time I played this in the arcades. It was one of my favorites and I can now see why. Thank goodness I pressed the video mostly out of curiosity. Thank you for uploading. Thank KZread for suggesting me this. It's like I've opened a memory chest I forgot I ever had.

This game is totally underrated and deserves more love. This game is like the perfect blend between a beat em up and a horror game. Its like if you were to combine Final Fight with elements of Castlevania and Resident Evil. Honestly, this game is perfect. Shame it never had any sequels.

Unfortunately, like the rest of the "Johnny Turbo" releases the emulation quality is somewhat iffy, though it's one of the better releases as it just has some slowdown and sound crackling in one stage whereas other releases like Heavy Barrel have missing sounds in places. At least they frequently go on sale for a pittance.
this gives off intense JoJo vibes like all the main characters remind me of the protagonists

That Stage 3 music is pretty rocking.
Love it! True Arcade Feelings, my dreamplace to be!
Use to love browsing the arcades with games like this. Problem being I ran out of change each time. Always happy to see these games played and completed.
this is SICK.👌i love the gore effects Data East brought many of those 2D sidescrollers back in the days& they were all fire

"Winners don't use drugs" I miss that little tidbit of a lie from arcade cabinets😂
I love Data East games, this is no exception - not to mention all their games have awesome music. Supernatural Final Fight with zombies and monsters. This game left a lifetime impression on me, especially after playing it at the arcade as a kid. Thanks for the upload.

Edit: this game opens directly with a message from the FBI and DOJ, that’s a pretty funny contradiction to the comment of no politics, somebody out there lightly enjoy the irony with me.

Yo the music is pre dam good!
i have a feeling the premise and especially cristopher were somewhat inspired by phantom blood, but kinda even more crazy and over the top
Looks fantastic! And of course Jake has the stars and stripes on his back fitting to his 80s glam metal hair. :D Thanks for the video!

Wow it means so much to me to see this me and my brother used to go to this barcade type place our friends dad owned we would play this for sometime as the bar was closed during afternoons it had the low all around lights bright screen loud speakers on this one and a ice cold surge . Thank you
Why do I not remember this game at all. This looks amazing
The games alot harder then it looks too. The dude playing is just really good.

Cool game! Tanks for video!
It cracks me up how the zombies come down the elevators.
The ability to grab bosses and slam them into the ground is epic.
'TIIIIIIIME TO CLEAN IT UP!'
Awesome soundtrack
The music on stage 1 is really good. They knew how to make first impressions.
This would make a great '80s anime. I'm surprised I've never heard of it!
