I had a 2020 xse hybrid, can't believe they added all the things I wanted in my 22 prime xse premium package, interior led, safety lights when you unlock car at night, brighter ambient lighting, lighting for the door controls(God that used to anger me) and so much more including ventilated seats.

It does look good in that black and red two tone.

2022 Lexus NX 450h+ will carry the exact same 3 batteries PHEV hybrid powertrain with more upscaled exterior/interior stuffs. It will perform slight worse than a R4P but you will pay a lot more for the upscaled stuffs. And not sure you will get any tax credit if Lexus brand is lumped into a part of Toyota EV fleet.

Hey Prime Auto, thanks for making this video. My wife and I have been enjoying our 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime XSE with the premium package since February, 2022. I have a couple of questions/comments concerning the adaptive headlights. First, although the Adaptive Headlights are listed on the Monroni Label (window sticker) under the list of optional items/features, apparently the feature was not installed on the car. Either they aren't really in the premium package of features as it was listed or it was left off during the manufacture of the car. Have you heard of this happening to anyone else for this feature? There is the adaptive headlight button on the lower left of the dash as per your video and the light right above it goes on and off as the button is depressed. But that's all it does. When driving at night, with the adaptive button pushed, the lights stay in the high beam position or low beam depending on the stalk switch on the steering column. They do not go on or off with the approach (or lack of) on-coming traffic. Sorry to you folks who live local to me and were blinded by my testing! Second, I take it by your video that the headlights will move left and right in relation to the steering wheel. Do they do this only when the adaptive dash button is depressed and the movement feature is activated or do they do this all time? Your video wasn't clear to me. On our car, the headlights remain fixed straight ahead regardless if the adapter button is pushed or not, the steering wheel is turned left or right, the turn signal blinker is activated or not and if the headlight stalk switch is in the manual on position or in the automatic (on/off) position. Lastly, are there any other features included in the adaptive headlight system in addition to the auto on/off and left/right movement? Do they go up and down based on whether the car is level or not? Finally, I do have an idea that maybe all car manufacturers could use. I know I would find it helpful. As cars become more complex and complicated, why not install the owners' manual into the computer of the car itself? I find it a pain to use a several hundred-page book only to be re-directed to page after page to get a question answered. Computers do it now... Also, the Adaptive headlight system described above is not listed in our owners' manual, but the Adaptive button is. The missing features are not. Any help or information you, or anyone, could provide would be most appreciated.

Thanks, helpful. Are there viable upgrades, say via easy to source bulbs? Also, for a 45- 50k SUV, we all expect more in way of lights, but 50k is actually cheap for the dual electric motors, smoothly connected hybrid gas engine, and reliability/warranty. Used to drive a Q5 and that would easily be 2x price with a comparable build, but you wld get all the bells and whistles.

on the climate control panel i know the button lights up when you push it on but shouldnb't the icons above the button light up as well. (2023 Rav4 XLE)

50 grand and they can't even backlight the door switches?? cmon Toyota!

For a 50k vehicle not having all the buttons lit is really annoying… also not having all the bulbs as LED is also kinda weird…. Hopefully interior lights are easy to replace and can put in LED bulbs instead.

I read online that it would turn some of it beam pattern off for oncoming traffic. In the spec sheet for the rav4 prime it states that it comes with adaptive Automatic high beam. Have u noticed anything regarding that

Amazing how features can really make a difference. The Mazda CX5, though not as powerful, has more lighted buttons in the interior. The adaptive headlights is one of the reasons why I preferred the CX5 2 generations ago. Nice Toyota added that feature as well. I wish the Mazda hybrid was as powerful as the Toyota but with the Mazda interior and lighting features. Can't have it all I guess... but why not, right?

I wanted the XSE version but I just couldn't justify in my mind the $10,000 markup the dealers were trying to add on...just made no sense, so I got the SE for $42K

A tesla is full EV and as such you can’t really compare it! Good that you didn’t say a Helicopter is better

I live in northern Europe and here the Prime start at 60K pushing up towards 65K depending on Trim and version. That's pretty expensive!

We should and only have white or slightly red ambient lighting, like Honda does. Blue is tiring for your eyes. Red is fine, green is fine, but I personally prefer just the white. Somewhere around 4500K white is my fav.

Red and orange interior lighting actually make your eyes work harder and tired. White, blue and green is easier on your eyes

4:00 toyota cut prices there? Bro you can get them for 50 bucks or less… maybe Toyota could cut like 100 bucks in total..

These headlights are good or acceptable on the nearly straight, flat road where you are testing. But in hilly and curvy terrain, the low beams are truly terrible and dangerous, and the high beams only somewhat better and not available all the time, of course, with oncoming traffic. The 2022 Rav4 Prime XSE doesn't have the adaptive headlights that were available on the 2021, making the 2022's lights really unacceptable, frankly scary, in a hilly area.

My wife wants that rav4 prime but I told her she’s not paying 50k for no rav4 that’s not worth it u can get a Tahoe for or expedition for that price

50k almost like a down payment when you’re a first time buyer for a home.

I know its a hybrid but its nowhere near worth 50k im also very disappointed in the high beams so many cars for way cheaper with better high beam lights

Running wires for ligthing takes lots of time which increase the cost, thats why most japanese automakers are very stingy on lightings especially Honda. Toyota is cosidered to be generous.

call me clueless, I have done a lot of research on this vehicle, as many other have not. It's a no brainer for me and I will really enjoy 302 hp, not buying hardly any gas and my $7500 tax credit.

@Ameri Pat that doesn't really work though if you're renting. I have a charging station I can use for a few hrs a day next to where I live but I can't fully charge a Tesla in the 2 hr time limit it allots

Japanese are so freaking cheap ,I drove one today at night and trying to find the window switch go figure

There's absolutely no reason for this car to be so expensive, Looked it up and they are literally running 50-$70,000 🧐🥴 Toyota needs to stop playing with us. We love the reliability and what not but that price is bonkers.

$50K is for a luxury vehicle not a Toyota
