I don't know if anyone remembers Damn Yankees. That band had Ted Nugent, Tommy Shaw (STYX), and a couple of the guys from Night Ranger. They also made some good music.

I love Night Ranger. Brings back a lot of great memories. 🎸🎸🎶🎶🎸🎸
Night Ranger! Great old-school band from back in the day. Their first hit was "Still Rock In America" back in 1979. When I was a senior in high school, ( 1986-1987), I remember someone asking what kind of band Night Ranger was. They weren't a pop group, and were certainly not a hip hop group. I couldn't believe that people of my own generation didn't recognize a rock band when they saw one.

Sister Christian is another great Night Ranger song!
Well this takes me back to my teenage years.
FUN FACT-NIGHTRANGER guitarist Brad Gillis, who took on the pressure-packed job back in 1982 of replacing Randy Rhoads after OZZY OSBOURNE's virtuoso guitarist died in a plane crash. He was replaced by Jake E. Lee who was later replaced by Zack Wylde.
Sister Christian is absolutely the song that got huge radio play when it came out and for years after. Great Song. I graduated hs in 1983 fyi.

Mr Brad Gills on guitar. One of the many whammy bar master's of shred!! 🎸🤘
This is my all-time-favorite Night Ranger song! Next one is "Eddie's Comin' Out Tonight"
Tommy Shaw, Jack Blades and company. Hailing from Northern California, These guys were just flat out awesome back in the 80's. How many saw them at the old Cal Expo Ampitheater. I was there. High energy and a lot of fun.
Good band from my high school days. Saw them live back in the 80s and again just a few months ago. They still sounded great
When You Close you Eyes is my fav from them
Excellent tune! A solid 1980's song that brings back great memories from that era. Thanks for sparking my brain to re-live those again. Yeah, that was weird where the video just stopped. But, still, the song is great. Thanks!!
Hey hey hey. Good man. Thanks for doing this Band. A very very underestimated band... I still regularly listen to them.. All their albums are good. And still go in.. One consistent band... Saw them twice...
Another great song by another great 80's band! You should react to "Goodbye" by Night Ranger

Awww, hate that when video cuts off!!! Good band.
now im pissed. i seen the notification when i was at a "state of jefferson" meeting. been going to see night ranger every year since the 80s. cali band that kicks ass.
Hey, Ty You should check out the song "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger That song was written by the drummer of Night Ranger who had written this song, originally titled "Sister Christie", as a form of brotherly advice to his sister
One of the best "Im here for a goodtime not a long time" songs . Sentimental street is a good one
:D That was fun! Felt like I got a cardio workout and all I did was sit and listen.
I saw them last month. They still have the same energy as they did when this video was shot.
When You Close Your Eyes, High Road, Touch Of Madness
Jack Blades, Bassist and lead singer went on to form Damn Yankees, with Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent......Prior to that he was part of RUBICON a one hit wonder with "I'm gonna take care of everything" 1978............Great song!
Saw Night Ranger back in the early 80's excellent show."when you close your eyes","sister Christian","still rock in America" probably my favorite song by them.☮️ Yes the video ended early
My favorite song from this band is Sister Christian. This song and Sister Christian were out when I was stationed on a destroyer in the navy. We had a rock band on the ship and I was the only guitarist... and I sucked. I ended up spending 8-10 hours a day practicing to get good enough for us to be able to gig. I listened closely to the guitar parts to a lot of songs like this to decide if I could handle them, especially for a single guitar band. I'm pleased to say that my guitar worked and we ended up gigging. This song takes me right back to those days.

My favorite 80's band!!!! I love NR!!!!
My first concert-------> Night Ranger & Quiet Riot. Night Ranger's other big hit was Sister Christian.
Super choice! My favorite by them. Always gets my motor running.
The keyboard players brother in law worked for my dad. He promised us when they came to town, he’d get us tickets. I was so disappointed when they never materialized! 😂😂😂
The studio version is 1000 times better!
Loving it! You should try “ Damn Yankees “ with the singers plays in with other bands
Just saw them at a concert the other day. Still great live!
This video should have more than 328 likes on this channel.. come on people get with it
Fantastic band and a fantastic song. 8 finger fret tapping back when it wasn't something every guitarist could do. This, "You Can Still Rock in America," " Touch of Madness." Good stuff.
That video cut off way too soon. Song is longer than that and isn't a Reader's Digest Condensed version with a cut off that made the listener fall off the cliff like Wile E Coyote. Great band from back in the day. So, the song was released December, 1982, and I was a young man between Army enlistments. Took a three year Reserve break in the early eighties. Night Ranger is a great band, often under appreciated. "Sister Christian" and "Sentimental Street" were both top ten hits, with "When You Close Your Eyes" in the top twenty...somewhere around 14 or 15...gettin' old, can't remember exactly where. "Four in the Morning (I Can't Take Any More)" and "Goodbye" were also top twenty hits. Good band. One of the better bands from the early eighties. Nice choice.
Night Ranger great band!
This song rocks!!!
Yes ~! Love these guys !! Great tune !!!
You and I had the same reaction! That is NOT the end of the song.. Wow! Anyway, I love that song. I think the lead singer is from Phoenix. Hope you are well Brother Ty!

Awesome guitar solo in this one! Sister Christian was their huge breakout hit.
I never knew Brad Gillis didn’t play that whole solo.. I thought he was the only one who solo’d in the band. Man, the other guy killed it too lol

Thanks Paul M! i was going to say the same thing!
You missed the awesome head banging finish of that song. It definitely cut out early. See the music video for it. Thoroughly great song.
The guy playing the red guitar, Brad Gillis, was one of Ozzy's first guitarists after Randy Rhoads died. The ending to this on the studio version is awesome!!!
Laura Crosby we've been missing you!
Maannnn...you missed a killer doble axe guitar closing!!!!!
This is the only Night Ranger song that I like, but I really like it. It really is a fun song. I think this video is from a Dick Clark Rockin' New Year's Eve show from '80, '81 or '82, as I remember watching it with friends when we were in high school. Too bad the end of the song is cut off, as that ain't how songs should end.
Non Lethal I wondered where you were. Hope you're getting better. Hey Lethal!
You should definitely check out Rock in America or When You Close Your Eyes. The video that you watched ended abruptly; that is definitely not how the song typically ends. If you watch any of their other concert videos, look for the Seven Wishes Tour. They are still out there touring now (I'm seeing them Saturday), and they still kill live.
Check out "When You Close Your Eyes" by Night Ranger.
2 songs..."Sister Christian" & "Goodbye"
Lil trivia action here. Did ya know Brad Gillis (the guy playing the red guitar) is the guitarist on Ozzy Osbourne's speak of the devil live album. The more ya know.
I love a band that is not boring in concert, and these guys don't disappoint. I always liked their song "Sister Christian." (Their "collapse" on stage reminds me of the B-52s' "Rock Lobster," which would be a good song to react to. The B-52s came much later than Night Ranger. The B-52s dress up like they're from the '50s, even wearing bee hive hairdos.)
Billy Squier - Don't Say You Love Me
Poor production on this video was bad because the vocals can barely be heard and it cut off way to soon. I like this song & "Sister Christian" by them. 👍👍
it was the people that put the video on youtube that screwed it up. there are at least 2 full albums of good songs. another would be "you can still rock in america" and if you have see the movie with Michael J. Fox, "the secret to my success" is also a song they did for the movie . Also look for "sing me away" for a slower ballad. Ya need to hit up us old guys that lived in that era to find the good stuff. I have seen 3 band from my area more times then i can count. Night Ranger, Sammy Hagar, and Y&T are the ones i wont miss if i get the chance.
The only song I know by Night Ranger is "Sister Christian" 😊 their biggest hit! 👍
Haven't heard this in eons! Funny, in some ways the live is better than the studio and some ways it's worse. Just a flat out 80's jam that we don't get anymore!
Great choice Barb!!
N.R.'s best song
"Sik" - "Sick" ? Like Sick 'em". Not sure. You have people in West Tennessee. You know what I mean. 😆

anyone else notice the similarity to pachelbel's canon?
No - there's actually more to the finish (lp version anyways) That was one bad thing about 80s music. The music actually did not match a lot of the lyrics. All these years later I still laugh about it 🎶😁

They were part of the "hair band" bunch so not one of my personal favorites. However they weren't bad. Unfortunately audio mix was low so couldn't here the verses but they did get a lot of air time on the radio in the late 80s
Maybe some solo Sammy Hagar next...
DTMYLM is one of the two most explosive songs from Night Ranger. The other one is You Can Still Rock in America. But I am with MRM. The lyrics don't combine with the song. What the lyrics says on DTMYLM? And the way you move. And the way you shoot. And the way you shake. I love the way you use me. It's been twenty-five years I'm a kid on the run. I've got a pistol for action. It's taken miles and lines. To learn the right from the wrong I'll keep you hanging on. And of course DTMYLM I don't wanna know. Lyrics from YCS RIA are much better.
I would would love you to react to Perfect day by Lou Reed. I would be curious to see your take on it
Try Sister Christian by Night Ranger
Wrong version. Always go with the record version. You missed out the outro solos.
The song was cut off. Not your fault but that wasn't the end.
React to Run by Night Ranger.
Why did you do the live version? For most songs the studio version is best for a first reaction. What makes someone able to appreciate the live version is being familiar with the original recording.

Very disappointed that the video cut off like that. Bad form, uploader/editor. Bad form. =(
I have to disagree with Ty in that the music is not happy. It's frenetic & suspenseful. The song came out at a time when I was seeing a chick & engaging in intense sex.. But then she ruined it all by stating she loved me. She turned psycho when I told her, "Don't tell me you love me". This song brings back those intense times where sexual passion turned ugly.
@Modern-Renaissance-Man

Wait! Wait! Wait!....ummmmmm. I said the lyrics were not happy but the MUSIC was. You said you disagree that the "music is not happy" , but you tell a memory of a girl that went "psycho" on you? That sounds happy to you? Is it me or am missing something?....😂

@@Modern-Renaissance-Man - The meaning of my statement was that I feel the music is not happy, while you believe it is happy. So I think the music and message go together very well while you felt they didn't. Hope that makes more sense.
