It all depends. Sonion est drivers like the super tweeter ,cost 200 dollars just for that 1 double driver. The normal one costs 80 buck's. So sometimes the cost depends on the drivers that are inside.

Brilliantly tuned iem. MidFi champion for sure.

Hi Akros I wanted to ask which source do you recommend pairing? I am currently running it off my quedlix 5k which helps abit when i need some EQ. do you recommend something like the mojo 2 since it tends to be a bit on the warm side or the q15 you usually use?

I know Erasmus was for starters and main dish is cooking so sometime in the future we will see 'your' IEM that rivals in the same league; you have enough experience to pull it off

Well they are both very good if totally different In sound concept. Top is a well excecuted bass focused IEM which does not forget that mids and highs are an Integral part of a good sounding IEM As for the Butastur..... simply one of the most impressive all BA sets at any price point. Sure it can be considered bright..... but it's an intoxicating type of bright which grabs you by the cojones and doesn't let go! Love it...hahahahaha

Hi Akros!! Nice vid!! A most interesting iem!! I still love the penen 10th ae, but want a different flavor of the same caliber, again my music is 70% rock of all kinds, 25% pop hits of all kinds and 5% other. Looking now at dunu sa6 mk2, epz 530, neon pro and soundrhyme sr8 or the new dte900. Wonder which of the above or another not listed would be best for rock?

Can you add a comparison with Sound Rhyme SR8? Be interested in the difference and if it worth the extra price.

Very interesting review as always and a special thank you for the various comparisons, Tony! Hear the differences between Butastur and NP like you describe them.

Would you recommend the EPZ530 over the SA6mk2? They both have good bass, but EPZ530 has better mids and treble right? Have you demoed the Multiverse Mentor to compare to the Butastur? How is the Turbo and SR8 different in tuning to these neutral IEMs in their default switches?

Great rundown, you always impress. What is the name of the Vietnamese IEM, (brand and model please), that impressed you so much? I'd like to buy the Butastur to support American Spirit's effort, unfortunately it's out of my budget. EPZ 530 is more reachable but still pricey. Is the Vietnamese IEM considerably more affordable while competing favorably in SQ, build quality, etc.? I lean to more bass rather than your preference of highs, maybe I should say lean towards dark. Rock, 80s New Wave and Jazz Fusion are my mainstays. I want the Butastur, but it may not have the tuning I prefer, but with tips, switches, and source may take it there, lol. I'll look into the mentioned Leisurely Audio L8s, which as described, are right in my wheelhouse sound preference wise.

The Vietnamese brand is called TXN Audio and the Dest Ti costs 2500usd so for me to say the Butastur is able to trade blows is very indicative of how good it is. The EPZ is a phenomenal set also and has more.bass so it might satisfy you more.

Seems like they need to redesign the case for a deeper fit. How wide is the soundstage?

seems impressive tony, it's a bummer that you didn't had the 7th acoustics supernova at the time, I really would like to see which one you would ultimately recommend between the butastur, the supernova and the 530.

Toe enjoyed this video very much,a newer end game item. Now you're making my decision much harder,I was going to get the 10th Anniversary but now this is on the scene. This will be probably the last one for a while if not jumping out of the game, appreciate your opinion, thanks 😊

Luckily did not pull the trigger on any of those yet. If butastur is not far from np, supernova and sa6mk2, I'll just buy this one, the shell looks small too with no inner mouldings. Good for small eared person like me.

@@akros9333 when you said sa6mk2 is not the total winner over np, i withdrew my decision, mainly because of price to performance. I really dont want to go beyond the 600usd mark, being in this hobby for a while, i realize that even at 300 you can already have a good set. Diminishing returns hit hard past 500.
