Given that there are some species of fish that don't do much of anything during the day, it's always a good idea to do some night fishing at a location to see if there are any nocturnal species there that wouldn't bite during the day. That was the plan and even though a bunch of nocturnal fish showed up, it was mainly just some Cook's cardinalfish (Ostorhinchus cookii) and redcoat squirrelfish (Sargocentron rubrum) which were both species I've caught before. The highlight of the day was my first ever thorny flathead (Rogadius pristiger) showing up. Apparently these guys spend the days buried in the sand and only come out at night. Neat little fish.
