Nigerians Struggle to Buy Petrol As Fuel Shortage Hits Nation | Firstpost America
The largest oil producer in Africa, Nigeria, is facing an acute fuel crisis. Several cities have been grappling with petrol shortages, with residents forced to queue up for hours to fill the tanks of their vehicles. Retailers say Nigeria's state-run oil company is responsible for the supply challenge. However, the company last week said that it faced a logistics problem that has been resolved. The oil supplier further added that it has sufficient fuel and urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying. The fuel crisis comes almost a year after President Bola Tinubu removed subsidies on fuel in the country. This sparked massive protests, with labour unions demanding higher minimum wages amid rising costs of living. Watch this video for more details.

It's nothing like Venezuela. This story is overhyped. It's just a logistics issue. By next week the fuel shortage will be over.

Don't allow your crude oil to leave the country to India.you can turn your crude oil to gasoline in your country for your people to benefit.

Not that easy, amazingly expensive especially at the scale you are talking about. This is just pure greed by a minority who make billions on the import export deficit and I am not talking about the colonial devils.

@@tmack347 My friend, here is a simple quotation from Google. "There are four major oil refineries in Nigeria. Two are found in Harcourt port and one each in Warri and Kaduna. Oil reserves are mainly found in the Niger delta region. Most of these oil reserves are under the control of foreign corporations.." Now here is my common sense. "Nigerians are very ingenious people. If you go to the Niger Delta you will find cartels that refine crude oil products using make shift apparatus. Most of these crude oil products are sold on the black market all over West Africa. You can buy gasoline in bottles or in plastic containers. That is a whole economy on its own that cannot be quantified. "

Nigeria is not running out of fuel. We are about to transition from importation to local production as several refineries are about to start pumping fuel, so marketers are cautious of buying expensive imported fuel in order not to suffer loss.
