    I loved it as well, for we've all eaten by the light of the refrigerator. She did say in a one on one, at the 92Y, (it's on KZread and very entertaining), that she can't eat before bed anymore and she now keeps her coat with her when going to restaurants just incase she needs to make a quick departure. I relate...getting older isn't all about fun.

    Amy Lonsdale , yes... but I feel she was much more relatable back then, than she is now. She’s really hamming it up these days, trying too hard, I don’t know. She doesn’t need to try, cos she’s so naturally beautiful and relatable.

    Brilliant, brilliant pacing and film direction as well. Something I feel isn’t mentioned enough is how perfectly these episodes are set, filmed, and directed. These things paired with the incomparable Nigella and it’s one of the best cooking shows of all time.

    She simply is the best cooking personality out there. She's a total sexpot, witty, funny & yet extremely relatable to everyone are none of those things - how is that possible?? I don't know what made me think of her recently but I wondered what she was up to these days. It sounds like she's enjoying the fruits of her labor out of the spotlight & as much as I'd love to see her out there, I'm happy for what she has given us & the fact that she seems to have some peace in her life after some really painful chapters.

    Seriously, those beautiful babies grating their own cheese is just the most adorable thing in the world! Edited to add: I made the lemony pasta and it was, as promised, incredibly easy and flavorful beyond expectations! It’s definitely going in my dinner rotation!

    About the egg yolk: the pot and pasta is still quite hot, and the lemon juice "cooks" the yolk too. People have been making and eating pasta like this for millennium, no problemo.

    @@unknownunknown7393 Your concerns are warranted, for while the Salmonella bacteria in undercooked eggs isn't likely to kill you, at some point in the middle of the night you'll wish it would. Use fresh, organic eggs from reputable source or hold back about 1/2 cup of the starchy water from boiling the pasta and add it to your sauce.

    Hello, thanks for sharing these easy tips. Totally understandable to be able to cook fast, when no time or tired. A small tip from me, which helps me really : two-three mushrooms to be sliced with toast bread, then goes in bread-toast with salt and oil. preparation time 4-5 minutes, easy snack/lunch to enjoy with coffee. Sometimes, I replace the mushrooms with Onions (Sliced)

    Want extra flavour when cooking pasta ? Use veggie stock with fragrant olive oil instead of salty water, and it works all the same with rice !

    If you couldn’t be bothered peeling garlic, go to your Asian grocery store, and look for fresh peeled garlic cloves. I love it ! No mucking around.

    Asian stores are gross. You have no idea how they peeled that garlic. It takes like 2 minutes just peel your own garlic. My Asian eats said and pigs feet and she never wipes the counter with any cleaning detergents and never buys dish washing liquid so the counters are always gross and I don’t even know how she washes her dishes. Probably just uses mine

    I also add smashed clove of garlic and sometimes make pancetta when i want some crunchiness. i stopped adding tarragon. is too wonderful the way she makes it.

    @@Asa-wv1zb holy cow! out of this world! thought as i was eating it, oh my gosh, what if I get sick? which DID happen to me years ago from old eggs! but i truysted her and googled and i was fine! i made too much so I gleefully ate it for 4 straight days! gotta have ALL fresh ingredients, including my tarragon, and the right triangle of parmesan! you have to make this!

    One trick - warm bowls with the pasta water while you stir the sauce the pasta with the sauce in the pan and pour that hot water back to the pasta pot before putting in the finished pasta in case you need it. That way the bowls aren't cold and the pasta will stay warm longer.

    I learned from various videos how to make the perfect (for me) lemon, carbonara, and pesto sauce pasta recipes this past summer,and I have to say they are the most delicious things to eat ever created. And lasagna with bechamel is up there too. Of course the Parmesan is integral to all recipes as it makes them that much more delicious. I am quite generous with it. Next time I make any of them, I’ll pretend I’m Nigella in the kitchen.
