Saying you're siding with someone who's massacring people on an hourly basis is an entirely different thing. You might be Asian, but you're not Ukrainian, the people who's actually involved in the war; the ones who was the punchline of the joke. It wasn't funny, It was hurtful, and yet he refuses to apologize? That's just shithead material.

@@kyowono Yes the situation is shit. And I'm pretty sure he's not actually saying what Putin is doing is right. If you watched the video, he's said the joke is shit. @@ExcuseMee see, when WAR VETERANS do it, it's dark humor, they've directly experienced it. Go look up dark humor on google, "Offensive jokes made by people who've experienced the problem themselves". For example, a person who combatted cancer and made it out can joke about it, but people who AREN'T RELATED, and NOT HELPING the problems while trying to make a joke about a bad situation for a lot a lot of people. Even the offensive Uncle Roger persona can stop at that. The war is still ongoing. Coping with humor should be something for the ukrainians, not something just anyone can just joke about. So please, do some research about humor before you decide to make a comment. People are still dying out there and he decided to make his persona say he's pro-russia.

The thing is that Uncle Roger is a characterization of a pragmatic, no-nonsense Asian uncle. Things that are expressed from his perspective are quite hilarious on many levels. Telling Tony Hawk that he's "too old for skateboarding". Telling the 2set violin guys "just sounds like violin to me". Hilarious. Nigel wasn't making fun of the tragedy of the horrible destruction of Ukraine as much as he was coming at it from the practical attitude of Uncle Roger.

Too right Nigel. If people don’t like it, then can jog on. Some jokes are funny because of the absurdity, not because of the subject of the joke… if that makes sense. Comedy isn’t a platform for truth telling. It pushes boundaries and makes light out of the dark. In order for our brains to cope with tragedy, we often laugh as an emotional crutch. Anyway, whatevs. Keep doing what you do. We love ya 💪🏻 ❤️

In my opinion, comedy actually is about truth telling, but doing it in a way that everyone relates to, and makes light of the crap situations that bring about the necessity for joking to cope. If you just go on stage and say I was abused as a child, that's sad, not funny. But if you go up there and go "I swear to God, my mother had homing slippers! It didn't matter where I was, what I was doing, whether the room had windows or not. If she was pissed at me those slippers would find my ass with deadly accuracy!" that's both funny and relatable lol. It's dragging the truth out into the light, and finding the ridiculous among the bad bits of life and laughing at it that pushes the boundaries! If people don't like someone's sense of humor, then don't listen to their shtick. Hate and death threats are stupid, immature, and unnecessary. Nigel and Uncle Roger are awesome, and I hope they're around for a long, long time! 💜

I definitely agree what you said! Even a war we don't need to take it so hard... Sometimes we need to make a joke over anything bad even over a war for a bit loose the tension, Cz we need it right? only if they don't take everything too hard, imagine how beautiful the world could be... also Mr.Nigel I appreciate your brave to speak out your mind 👏👏 keep it up :)) you point is right 👍

Honestly Nigel, you really shouldn't have to explain yourself nor should you ever have to apologize for any joke that clearly made people laugh, isn't that the point of comedy? Also really dude?!?!? 31??I'm gonna be 32 on Saturday the 12th, there is no effin way that you are YOUNGER than me....that's unfair man, totally unfair...haha loved the episode, can't wait for the next one and good luck on the rest of your tour!

As a white person cooking Asian food, thank you! I do find it funny that most of these people who have a problem with white people doing their Asian food, don't have a problem if the person is of a different Asian descent (ie if you made Japanese food) , as if it's glossed over or un-noticed. (we actually met at Tosa, and I think the yakitori chef that day was white... seriously good yakitori!)

I wouldn’t worry too much about the butterflies. Usually they’re just a sign of nervousness or anxiety over sex and they’re not always there. Since you’ve had sex so soon after meeting before true feelings developed it can leave you feeling disconnected. I would give it some time and a few more dates to see if deeper feelings develop.

@@nahalrouge9415 - Anytime. Hope you’re doing well and have given your romance a chance to bloom. If not, I hope you find the happiness you deserve elsewhere. 👍 Ps. I wasn’t putting down casual sex though I wouldn’t call sleeping with someone you’re dating, even if quick, casual. Just a probable cause of what you are/were feeling.

But after a long time, I finally discovered the podcasts and more other comedy perfomance. The impression of Nigel suddenly turn into a thoughtful comedian with nice abs, and butterflies appear.^_^
