Nietzsche's Views on Women

It might be shocking for people to discover the views of Fredrick Nietzsche on women and women's emancipation.

To be fair to Muzammil , he has addressed this question in one of the interviews he gave. He clearly said he doesn’t agree completely with any one the philosophers views he reads. He specifically mentioned Nietzsche and clarified that he doesn’t agree with his views on Women.

Hello sir, great fan of your videos. I just want to let you know that muzzamil shah acknowledged that Nietzsche's views on women are not right. The important thing to remember is that no one is perfect and we can criticize our role models for that because Nietzsche himself said that if people blindly start following him, he will leave everything and go into the woods.

Nietzsche is writing this in the 19th century, whereas Dr. Taimoor is criticizing him in 2024. The time, conditions, and scenario are different. Reasons why Nietzsche criticized women include: 1) His bad love experience with Lou Andreas-Salome. A girl whom Nietzsche wanted to marry but got rejected. 2) His sister Elisabeth Nietzsche, who mis-interrupted his work and made him a 'Nazi philosopher'. [3] The crux of Nietzsche's philosophy is 'overcoming the human self and turning into an Uberminch". He suggested it for all, despite gender. [4] Nietzsche's views about women changed with time, and at different times he had different views. I am not canceling what Dr. Sab said; that is also a side of Nietzsche's philosophy, but that is only one side, not the whole picture. But what Dr. Sab is doing is actually canceling Nietzsche just because of his views on women. {women are just one topic; his philosophy has many more topics and many different aspects}. As a Nietzschean myself and a person who reads philosophy every day, I can assure you that Nietzsche is 'THE GREATEST GENIUS EVER LIVED'. Read his work, not just random quotations from the internet.

May be in counter, you may come up with a point that i was talking about collective viewership. Please, Sir! You are a respected person. We watch your videos. Don't do such kind of things. The Faminist movement was just emerged in Europe in his time and it is yet to hit it's bottom so it wasn't a prevailing mentality but the reality it, he was a pure sexiest person who believed the out dated old school thoughts about women all his life.

Though you have cleared your point of mentioning muzamil in your video, the discrepancy still remains ridiculous. If you don't mean to criticize or degrade him then you must not deny the fact of using his picture and name as a click bait in order to attract audience and engage them.

We must not skimm over the quotes without considering their historical context. What Nietzsche wrote could be seen as a reflection of society's attitudes towards women during his era. Perhaps he was merely observing and describing societal behaviors rather than explicitly endorsing or rejecting them. Manto could be a good parallel?

Thank you so much for introducing the young generation to Nietzsche. You were, however, completely wrong to presume that people who are antifeminists would not be interested in your lecture. They are the ones for whom this video is of utmost interest. It's like Maulavis inadvertently introducing Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza to their audience only to see them, with time, becoming one of his ardent followers. Thank you again Professor for this gem of a video.

We should keep in perspective the era during which Neitzche's writings took place, after all it was in the backdrop of the Victorian age with all it's chivalry and pre-industrial values.

It sure exposes a lot of confused individuals who idealise him. His quotes sound like something written next to ultra-right-wing 'murghi wala' like "Achi aurat aur badkar aurat ki nishanian". Unsurprisingly I've seen this fellow quote new illiberal Atheists who are of same views.

Nietzche sounds like a typical villager. I believe some of his thought would be from his personal experiences with girls, but I would must say that if girls or boys will not be true educated they may have such qualities in them. Some of the qualities which he mentioned are even currently exisiting in uneducated women and even in men. When I say uneducated it is not the peice of paper whatever degree it is having on that. Most of the problems can be solve with the true spirit of education and being an intellectual. People like you sir, and other podcaster who are providing us information and different opinoins are indeed doing a great work.
