It's more like a playable Evangelion. You get a good amount of world-building and character introduction and you have some fun things to see and stuff but then shit hits the fan and systematically destroys everything you love

41:37 really hit me hard the first time I played through it. Watching pod drag the sword to 2B so she can fight instead of making it appear in her hands was so meaningful.

Love how the intro chimes you onto where to head otherwise her system going apeshit would have thrown me off. Great way to kill off the face of a game and transition into best girl.

Almost 8 years now and this game still gives me chills, specially Route C. Route C is the real deal of this game.

They knocked me into the pit that leads underground and it wouldn't let me use the ladder to get back up :( This section was a bit cruel

By far, the best route of the game. Best part of the game ever. Route C was the best.

This game can spiritually awaken you, if you pay attention. None of this is real, and you've done this before.

I'm playing this on the switch and I got "the software closed because of an error" right at the end. I thought it was part of the game but when I restarted I had to redo everything. It was really anoying.

Yeah, it's basicly continuing the story of 2b and 9s then starting A2's story

I just watched this to learn where to go for the first couple parts but didn't spoil it and now I just finished the parts covered in this video and I'm so sad... very sad way to end the night

Well I was like lvl 38-40 when doing this , so it took me 2-3hours , and that was most frustrating part of the game :P

The opening to Route C to me is the pinnacle of gaming as a form of story telling. Did I hate that it took 20 or so hours for what is essentially a prologue? Absolutely. Is it my standard for story-telling in games now? 100% I hate/love you, Yoko Taro

You need to press continue, not new game. Route C is the continuation of the story. Im probably answering too late but just in case...

Did you find out? If not; this area is locked Per Playthrough. If you started this quest but didn't use the elevator before achieving an ending, it will be locked until chapter select is unlocked. Using chapter select, and whichever Act you choose, start the Emil Quest from the beginning and complete it. I forget if it's only available for certain chapters, but the earliest on the better. TLDR; there might be a guide online for this better than I can explain

Gideon McAllistar its a japanese thing, they believe that the hair cut is a signal of both grow and advancement in life, a shif in tone of ome morals and objectives. Nier Automata is full of things like that, for example: The reason why 2B and A2 are so beautiful is because of a japanese belief (which comes from the Greeks by the way) that the perfect form of the human bodt is when they are at theyr peak of beauty, thusly why 2B is beautiful and Adam and Eve are handsome and ripped

Why couldn't the game continue after ending A and join it all together in one ending? And then create other endings as optional for those who want to play the game again? Just to see what happened next I did not enjoy playing the whole thing again as 9s. Fuck that. And this route was a chore to get through after all I did in route B. The gameplay is cool but is not that great to stretch the game out like this. How cool could it be to continue straight on after beating Eve.

Well route b is the story in 9s's perspective, showing the player more things than in 2b's percpective because she can only fight. 9s however is a scanner and can know secrets by hacking, so technically route b is useful for the story I know I'm saying this VERY late

Buuut thats sort of the purpose. Think thate BS try going through Nier to get its final ending. That aside each Taroverse entry D1 D3 and Automata has a sequential ending process.

even though route b was very repetitive, the purpose of route c was to show 9S’s perspective and emphasize the meaninglessness and repetition of war and conflict. when 9S was connected to the network, he went through records of humanity and learned that: “humanity continues to learn and advance, but always fails. it’s like they’re designed to fail.” yoko taro was very self aware and took advantage of the repetition, ig, but still effective in delivering the message. 🤷‍♀️✌️😗
