I believe Miyako composed this song to go with the piano piece she started with I could swear a part she plays on the piano she later uses in her guitar solo as well as the piano rolls through the piece she also implements at the end of the song.

I just love Asami in this performance... striding around the stage at her imperious best as if to say "Worship me you miserable underlings!" It's pure performance too. If you see her on camera off stage she's humble, even a little shy and goofy. It's a contrast she shares with Suzuka Nakamoto from Babymetal... whereby a bit of an endearingly awkward goofball turns into a rock and roll Goddess as soon as you put a microphone in her hand and an audience in front of her.

Thanks for reacting to Swan song. I think you begin to understand how talented this band is :)

All of these women play multiple instruments and the talent level of the band is insane!!! This concert is one of their best and they have several piano songs in their catalog. Miyako has learned piano since age 3 and started the guitar at 18 (now 30) and it shows. No better power metal band playing today period and they have only been together 3+ years!!! For a metal band their songs are very unique as they are often uplifting and empowering unlike most metal songs out there, but don't you dare smirk as there playing skills are truly face melting!!!

The connection between the Chopin Etude and the rest of the song is that the song incorporates elements of the Etude into the harmonies. Miyako is essentially a classically trained composer and musician. Thank you for doing this, I've been trying to get you to do it for awhile but the links were never good in Denmark, so I'm glad someone found it for you.!

They actually have several song with Miyako on the piano, it goes to show everyone just how versatile they are, btw Miyako is a trained pianist since she was 3 years old and decided to pick up the guitar at 18

Miyako the guitars player who composed this piece is a classically trained pianist before she picked up the guitar. she's a fan of Frederick Chopin and Antonin Devorak and wanted to pay homage to those composers with this song. Asami the vocalist wrote the lyrics and added the choral part.

I was deeply moved when I learned that Miyako's piano solo at the end expressed the way the swan was dying.

Just to note, Chopin's "Etude" Op 10 No 12 "Revolutionary Etude" came out at the time of failed uprising in Warsaw Poland in 1831 against the Russian occupation of Chopin's beloved motherland. He would never sat foot again in Poland. The Etude is not on their album but Miyako here plays the etude as it fits well with the song "Swan Song" and book ends the song with her own composed piano outro signifying the "death" of swan. Just listen to the lyrics why.

Great song, Excellent performance, “sounds the way it’s supposed to sound” even without technically having heard it, exactly! “It has Everything!” A very short phrase in this song reminds me, have you heard the band Stryper? In the mid 80s (still going!) their sound was ahead of it’s time, heavy & harmonized existed, but they sharpened it in a way that was less harsh but kept all the power. Try the songs “To Hell with the Devil”, or “Free”, and you might like their piano ballad too, called Honestly.

Lovebites are awesome, them and Unlucky Morpheus are my favorite bands atm and UM has a violinist playing metal, Dignity of spirit - official live video kzread.info/dash/bejne/qmuLm6acha6_j7g.html shows how great Jill is at the instrument, her part was originally for Shiren, 1 of the 2 guitarists but he has a medical condition that prevents him to play long stretch of time so Jill takes over his solo from the guitar to the violin and it works

I like this couple a lot and they seem very sweet. That said I wish I had a straight jacket. If I did I would put it on the lady so that she couldn't constantly pause the song and also she pauses it right in the middle of the lead solos just at the wrong time every single time. It's maddening! If she refused to wear the straight jacket then I will just put it on me because she is driving me crazy!!!
