I'm assuming they couldn't use the original for the game, so they chose someone who sounds similar to Tina, and Nicole did a great job in my opinion. It was a nice surprise when this song started playing for the opening credits.

This version is awful! Nicole Scherzinger’s singing voice is insanely too high-pitched in GoldenEye 007 (2010). Her singing is far, far, far better in GoldenEye 007: Reloaded! The one in Reloaded is the cover you needed, not this shit! This one is ear torture!

Her voice is my most favourite in the world because she is so inspiring. I love her and her music. She could easily be a bond girl or sing bond theme tune definitely. No contest. Her voice is just beautiful. We love you Nicole. I am a real and huge fan of you Nicole Scherzinger. God bless you. From a dancer's perspective, this version is exponentially better to dance the Argentine tango to. The ending is spine-chilling!!! However, I respect the legendary singer who originally sang this.

Tina Turner sang the original version of this song for the Goldeneye movie in the 90's. Nicole Scherzinger recorded this version for the 2010 remake of the 1997 N64 Goldeneye video game.

Mia. All singers take traits from their influences and you can hear in this that Tina was an influence of Nicoles. So it's only natural that you'll hear elements of Tina's in this. Which, like Ellis previously said, is probably why they hired her, because they can hear elements of Tina in her voice. As the great Frank Sinatra once said, "Take from one, it's stealing. Steal from many and it's research!" Plus it's cheaper for the game company to rerecord the theme tune than it is to use the original because of licensing rights, royalties and lawyers, all the shit that usually gets in the way of music. And you might not like it, but Nicole comes in at a lot cheaper to hire than Tina Turner does.

Both this and the movie's version feel like a perfect fit for their respective media The movie version feels a bit more lowkey and fitting for one of the (relatively) more introspective bond movies without losing that distinct "bond theme" vibe while this version is perfect for hyping you up to play through the game's slightly more action-packed story

I don't JUST love Tina, I fucking adore her and her art throughout the decades. This is the first time I hear this, and I must say Nicole did this master piece a justice. BUT, I will always prefer Tina's version no matter what. Sorry all you Nicole fans and Nicole herself. No offence at all.

@neocomp92 Ah, 'aggressive' I suppose that's the word I was looking for. Personally I like this version even more than the original, if only because Nicole seems more in control of the higher octaves, but I suppose it's also a stylistic choice, keeping in line with the 'new Bond'.

Well, I recently uploaded videos of this game. The first episode got revenue sharing because it recognized Nicole's version. Another episode got straight up copyright stricken because they thought it was the Tina Turner original. Could be a compliment to Nicole, or just KZread's whacked system.

I have just paused before hearing this song sung by Nicole. I adore the Tina Turner version and as I am not that fond of Nicole, this has to be good, I hope she sings to me and not AT me, in other words this has to have emotion and not just a vocal register/shouting showcase... above is my answer....

When I first heard this song, I went pure snob mode. I said to myself, no way she's gonna do Tina justice, why even bother? Then it started and I thought, this is actually really good, however, I was still in defend Tina mode and said, no way shes gonna nail the part where Tina pushed it, then it came and I got chills and goosebumps. Nicole did Tina justice and made it her own all in one. I love this version and consider it one of the best covers ever done. I know Tina was proud. RIP queen.
