@CiaranChelsea Those strikers don't do as much as Jackson. If anything, they take away from what we have in Palmer. The main focus right now should be building a team around Palmer. Osimhen isn't a clinical finisher like Isak, and he can't add to the play like Isak. Isak is also Premiere League proven. I don't want another striker, Isak is the answer.

Always felt that Mudryk's delivery from dead ball situations is atrocious. Today, his delivery from the corner and free kick was shocking to say the least. Not even Championship level.

I know you don't agree, Niinii, but you wish we'd had Nkunku - but he's another crock. We've spent zillions on players who are either permanently in the sick bay, or come back for three matches max. I've been watching the game since before you were born, and for years I've seen these wonderful players who promised so much, but have proved just too injury-prone to be stayers. In the end there are those players who are resilient, and those that constantly break down, and if you keep spending big money on the latter (and never mind they're becoming crocks, we have a special talent for buying them when they already are) you can never build a great team. I know this sounds heartless, and truly I wish the long roster of invalid talent we have languishing in the sick bay would come back properly mended, but for the majority I fear it ain't gonna happen. As to Jackson, you've long held a candle for the man, and he's immensely talented, but again and again he's just not looking like the killer we need.

If it takes a loss for the fans to realise for once that this season is 80% the player's performance and maybe 20% Poch tactics, I'll take it. This really underlined that the issue is clearly in the players performances. Tonight is really harsh for Jackson and he'll be the one hurting the most I don't doubt it. In many respects, Jackson provided exactly what Poch was looking for at the tip of his 4-2-3-1 system. He led the press with intelligence and intensity, playing his part in forcing valuable turnovers in City's defensive third. But on days like this, you often live or die by the ruthlessness of your strikers and Jackson's wastefulness cost Chelsea dearly. Onwards and upwards, let's be easy on the team

When I saw Gusto subbed off for Disasi vs Doku I knew we were over. I would love to see Jackson on the wing or inside forward, he is fast and strong. I think Jackson is a player with huge potential, but he cannot lead atm.

U21's level of playing is completely different from premier league opposition level it ain't easy to score unless your a goal-scoring machine like haaland even at that we have seen him struggle considered his wingman de bruyne has been injuried for good part of a season

We didn't have Jackson last season, what happened? Most of the top so called strikers we've had what have they done? Not including Diego and Eto. Those were the two last strikers we've had. This is a new team and new players. New everything actually. This is their first year together. Let's wait and see next season. Now, let's talk about our medical staff and keeping players fit. Malo was subbed because of a potential injury and we can't afford to lose him now. We have top players on the sick bads, let fix that problem first.

A clinical striker has to have the ability to get the ball in the critical positions. This is Jackson's strength. He obviously has to improve his finishing. Lukaku was a finisher who didn't get the ball into the positions to score when he played with us. So whilst we may need a striker, we need to understand the entirety of our needs.

You can't win anything with strikers like Jackson. He can't finish. Drogba would have buried any of those chances. I am mad.

I agree Jackson was poor, but people should chill out. He's not the finished article. Yes, we should sign an experienced striker. We've had key players miss basically the entire season. We are so close to being a very good team. We are not far off. We have pushed some of the best teams in the world to their limits. Poch has gameplanned very well for these big games. As bad as he was today I do believe his finishing has improved over the season. I am prepared to be patient and see if he can continue to make the same progression with his finishing.

Jackson just ended his career at chelsea after this game unfortunately, because without a doubt, we will be idiotic if we overlook gyokeres, toney, Watkins, oshimen, or another natural striker who can finish this summer. My opinion has definitely changed now. I believe if gyokeres or oshimen or Toney is available we have to get at least one of them. I don’t believe Jackson has that aura to led to the line for a top club. He can reminds me of firmino, but the only way a player like Jackson will work is if we ditch the mid three of Gallagher, Enzo and Caicedo.

This guy plays at the highest level so of course he has the attributes but when I see soft shots or weird decisions in the final third you can clearly see he's just thinking too much and plays everything hesitantly. Thank you Nini for the measured take. As you’ve said there’s a limit to what we can expect from this team of young players in their first season together. Based on their individual talents we can expect performances to improve in the coming seasons and hopefully in 3 years we can steadily rise to becoming a regular top 4 team again. Yes, it would be great to overachieve now and win trophies instantly with this group. However, we’ve seen their immaturity come to the forefront a lot of times. It’s best they learn as a group and gradually grow and become a top team who can maintain that level of performance week in week out; rather than they over-perform now and develop stupid egos thinking they’re the sh*t only to get humbled next season.
