    I don't understand all the negativity in the comments, anyone with any grappling experience can understand the incredible level of conditioning this guy has. I am really impressed by this ability to remain explosive even deep into the fight. I would be interested to know more about his training techniques.

    Dang. The level of these events sure has skyrocketed in the last 5 years. The Open events are way higher level than this Trials/ADCC qualifier was.

    crazy to see how much of his technique is the same when comparing him just starting out, and today. I'm not saying he hasn't developed and evolved, I think it shows how instinctually good he was even from the start. His style looks relatively similar from 5 years ago compared to now, where as someone like myself has 2 completely different approaches from when I started compared to now.

    He's one of the head referees in ADCC now. You can see his name in Nicky's documentary, "The black belt slayer". i dont remember it.

    @@freedom2870 they both have their advantages bc wrestlers can take someone down and Jiu Juiteros Can control someone while on the ground but as a former wrestler going into BJJ I think realistically it’s better to have 80% wrestling and 20% BJJ background as opposed to the other way around bc the fundamentals of wrestling carry you further than the fundamentals of BJJ in a street fight

    @@trxscreed but he didn't have a wrestling stance at all to try and be low enough to block takedowns, when the takedown did come he didn't do any takedown defense. I mean what the hell. he didn't do anything. Ignoring the rear naked choke and using both hands to grab Nick's foot?? Did they grab some guy from the crowd??? I'm so confused.

    If your ankles are to high and/or off to the sides of their hips, it's highly unlikely that the old school figure 4'ing your legs for the ankle lock is accessible. Worst case, you can frame their head away and escape your ankle if it starts to become a problem.

    na bro got the wrestler build. A way to recognize people who took steroids is to look at their traps because many androgenic receptors are located in the trapezius muscles. This guy has underdeveloped traps for his size, so probably he's natural especially if he's from a wrestling background, many wrestlers look like gymnasts.

    Where is the jiujitsu? This is basically a wrestling match with no pins. Wrestling is cool but nogi jiujitsu it ruining the art. I’d like to see this guy in a gi metamoris type match, 20 mins, submission only. That way I could get a better perspective of his jiujitsu vs his wrestling. He’s a very good wrestler
